Let’s talk the Squads in ‘Attack on Titan’

First of all, we start with Eren’s little squad he formed during the Trost battle, and not to anyone’s surprise, there’s not much to talk about with them. I’ll give them credit for pushing up the skates right after Thomas got eaten, definitely a huge 180 after raising hopes so high. But… that’s about it.
Of course Mina would be the most memorable one for being the cute girl but that’s more for the next entry.
I’m gonna be honest here, I don’t get the love for the old Levi Squad. Petra is friendly enough and respects Levi to a high degree, and I can understand that at least. But Eld and Gunther are just…there, and Oluo is REALLY annoying - the only good thing is that he bites his tongue a lot to make him shut up lol.
Another reason is because their deaths were practically their own fault, except for Gunther I guess who was caught off guard. So the Female Titan escaped the trap and just quickly murdered their comrade, and yet they still didn’t trust Eren to go titan and take her down himself. Their distrust and fear of him is what got the last three killed.
(But Eld does get a bonus for being voiced by THE Vic Mignogna)
Now here are my personal favs: the Miche Squad. Although only being around for a few episodes, they show they’re more likeable. There’s Nanaba, the strong-hearted, compassionate second-in-command; is well trusted my Miche. Gelgar, the guy who likes booze but not enough for it to get in the way of fighting. Lynne who was very thoughtful and tried to bring hope to poor Connie’s situation, and there’s… the other guy.
Okay, aside from that, I appreciated their full dedication to protecting the young unarmed teens inside the castle. They demonstrated the real means on being strong soldiers - if only we could’ve seen more of that before they got axed off too quickly.
Lastly, Hange Squad; also not much to say. Despite Hange being my absolute favourite, their squad doesn’t do much outside of Moblit. Although Nifa did get a brutal way to go and one the others is literally nicknamed ‘Goggles-kun’. 😂
Moblit does earn my respect for having to put up with Hange’s shenanigans about every day and yet still remains loyal to the end - especially his sacrifice.
Yeah, that’s all I gotta say. Feel free to share your own opinions on each squad; I honestly get surprised to see AOT fans viewing such minor characters better than Yams does himself.
My headcanons for the D-list Glup Shittos of the 104th
Mina Carolina - She's bi, is of Marleyan descent, when she was a kid, she used to make food with her mom and give it to the poor community around Calaneth
Thomas Wagner - My headcanons about him change a lot, but I think that Thomas is an older brother to at least 2 siblings. From what little we saw of him, he seemed like a decent leader, this makes me think he has siblings at home that he helps guide around the house when their parents were busy. Also, he makes very good lemon cake.
Franz Kefka - Franz is the definition of a gentle giant. He never gets riled up at anything, even if you try to make him upset. The worst he'll do is cross his arms like a disappointed parent. Also due to his appearance, people always ask him stuff like "do you wrestle?" or "do you play sports?" Which he typically just laughs off.
Hannah Diament - Hannah's a very positive girl, but she can be very stubborn at times. Changing her opinion on something proves to be hard, and she just refuses to admit she's wrong. She can also be a bit sensitive or emotional, let's say she's watching a sad play, she'll burst into tears like it's real. As a more positive headcanon, I headcanon she has a knack for painting, especially face painting.
Nac Tierce - Nac is a very inviting and understanding person, always willing to help people even if they don't ask for it. He'd take a dodgeball for someone if he had to.
Mylius Zeramuski - He's sorta like Moblit and Bertholdt. He's not really certain of things and tends to be very cautious. Not Daz levels of cowardice, but he has trouble making decisions, trying to decide what would be the best call to action. He's also a little shy. He also has feelings for Nac, who helps him get through his feelings of uncertainty and shyness, allowing him to come out of his shell a bit more.
And that's everyone! I loved expanding on characters that don't really have anything going for them. It makes them feel less like faceless grunts and actually makes me appreciate them a lot more!
Bertholdt wakes up in the paths, ready to be sent to hell or be beaten up by all the people he has killed over the years only to see Marco, Thomas, Ymir, Marcel, Hannah, Franz, and Mina singing very bad Kareoke songs.

To bring you up to speed, Survival Specialists is my personal AOT fanfic project that imagines a world of AOT that is less harsh, more characters survive yet some still die. Or as I like to call it, "90% Characters Survive"
The encounter with Colossal is merely same, but with Daz as another witness alongside Connie, Sasha, Mina, Thomas and Samuel. Letting out "What... the fu-" before getting ejected from steam blast. And the fight between Eren and Colossal is merely the identical, the only change is the ending. Colossal when erupting bunch of steam in the back against Eren, Bertolt ejects from his titan and the Colossal's body falls backwards while disintegrating, much to Eren's confusion of "What the hell happened?"
Fast Forward, Squad Eren is formed with Armin, Thomas, Mina, Jean and Marco. Assigned with killing any stray titans in the front guards of Trost. Eren gives his motivational speech to his teammates (Much to Jean's ignorance) They go out, splitting into duos. Each of them did well, with Jean & Marco slicing Titan Napes and quickly proceed running on to the rooftops (With small conversations every now and then) Mina & Thomas spotting titans, usually counting how many there are or left.
But things went to shit when an Jumping Abnormal Titan bite Eren's foot and got him tumbled into the rooftops, Armin tries to call others but... they overlooked a major flaw in this squad.
Keeping in touch, thus Mina, Thomas, Jean and Marco are nowhere to be seen. Thankfully back up arrived with Nac and Mylius- Nevermind, they died quickly and Armin gives up. The following is practically same as canon, Armin almost gets eaten, but saved by Eren but in turn Eren gets eaten.
Following the event, Armin is tended by Franz and Hannah, assuring him he'll be okay. Ymir says otherwise but got scolded by Krista and demeanor of jerk switches to "Let's get married once this is all over!" Connie who's on watcher/spotter job says he can't find others, Squad Reiner, Squad Marlowe or Squad Floch. Ilse on the other hand writing his notebook, describing the current situation they're in.
Armin's weak meltdown is interrupted by Floch, reporting that an abnormal is running around the district and causing havoc. He says that Mikasa, Annie and Hitch are chasing it down. But Floch notices Armin is not really listening and he's silently crying. Sighing, he carries Armin to the rooftops. The streets are no longer safe.
Louise is stuck in a conflict with the civilians and Dimo Reeves's, the civvies nudged her to do something but Dimo threatened her by using his clout to summon higher-ups and silencing her. The Running Abnormal Titan heading towards the crowd area with no care. Until it's nape sliced off by Mikasa, followed with Annie, Hitch, Marlowe and Boris. Marlowe is furious of Dimo and demands he let civilians pass first immediately, but Mikasa did the hard way much to his dismay. Annie commenting "It's all the same."
Part ends with Mikasa explaning her past with Louise.

AOT headcanons about minor/niche characters in my street racing au love triangle x reader fic that i really enjoy
Frieda owns a coffee shop that she's really hardcore about. She hand makes the syrups and bakes treats and grows flowers to sell and sources ingredients locally, she's kind of an intense boss that you can't quite read, though ultimately she means well and really loves what she does
Ymir used to work at said coffee shop but is absolutely not a morning person, and quit shortly after--she hates the humiliation of working in food service anyway
Ymir loves taking photos of Hisu, and usually brings a camera to car meets and nights out to take hundreds of pics of her in cute outfits and in front of her car (which Ymir spray painted and regularly maintains)
Historia gets pretty embarrassed with how loudly Ymir hypes her up, but she secretly loves it despite being super shy in the moment
Mina and Thomas are dating, they're that couple that's been together for forever, in that first love sense (in a healthy way, they're very content)
Mina and Thomas live separately though, because they value each others boundaries and space
Mina lets Thomas leave his gaming system at her apartment because since he's living with Connie, Armin, and Marco, there's no room---it's a fun excuse for Thomas to see his girlfriend often, and Mina likes to have all their roommates over to play
