i thought i was better but im sad again okayyyy may avoid timekeeper fans due to them already making assumptions and blaming everything on shmilk calling im “slop” and “spoiled milk”, ect…

and how he’s gonna “ruin everything” just because she made a somewhat surprised expression in the cutscene..(even tho all of this was written and created WAY IN ADVANCE. this type of stuff is planned like..years in advance)

im not gonna necessarily put them in my dni but man it sucks that i have to practically walk on eggshells in this fandom because they don’t know how to be normal about a blue cookie..

like i love and kin eternal sugar and i love white lily but i get paranoid whenever i come across any fans of them(or fans of any other cookies rlly) because what if they’re apart of the shadowmilk hatedom. i dont know much about timekeeper but i have heard things about her and still find her interesting and was excited for her debut in kingdom.(i also played a little bit of ovenbreak but when i was new to crk)

now im scared instead cuz i already know ppl are gonna use her to put down shadow milk and another anti shmilk hate wave will inevitably come back when she comes in May…i cant do this anymore like what is y’all’s problem??? im not a terrible person for liking this character. NO ONE IS. HOW IS IT THAT HARD TO UNDERSTAND???

and there’s also no point in me branching out to the other games either because ppl will get mad at me for that too just because im a kingdom player

alright gang lets get into what i made this blog for in the first place

TIMEKEEPER X BLUEBERRY PIE COOKIE!!!!!

theyre two of my favs so. i thought up a little AU (yes its toxic yuri bc idk i wanted that this is self indulgent)

timekeeper encouraging blueberry to use the forbidden powers .... see what could be achieved, show her countless futures-- and how many of them are lonely, endless silent nights waiting for the moonlight and wizards that never come back for her

maybe its even because of who she is, "blueberry pie" has never fit in with the mystic stars and moon, nothing of the power or knowledge the wizards worked for timekeeper shows her countless futures, and with timekeeper's encouragement eventually she reads everything in the restricted section, then going on to try to attain the power of the stars for herself, during this is when she slowly at first then, experiment after experiment, she crystalizes into Star Sapphire Cookie of course, timekeeper is there for her, helping her to not shatter and die under the strain of everything she's done and learned. she realizes she is exactly what she wanted now: a cookie based in the stars, but it came at such a cost even more, she realizes that despite the small amount of stardust in her dough now, she's a gemstone which can only be from earthbread and she got both infinitely closer and further from what she wanted

she returns to the archives from. wherever she went. and its in disarray from her unleashing the restricted section she somewhat cleans it up, but makes the archives and city of wizards even more inaccessible from the outside, and kind of "takes over" the city but she doesn't do much she just stays in the archives, trying to cope with all the knowledge and trying to find a way to make herself really one with the stars (in a way, its like dark enchantress but a lot less people die)

so blueberry pie cookie becomes star sapphire cookie!! her design is based off the blueberry "drops" crystalizing and becoming star sapphires (sapphires with the asterism phenomena) she'd have time-based accessories because influence from timekeeper, some gold probably as well as a lot of gold lines in her blue outfit (which are meant to represent rutile silk inclusions that can be found in sapphires)

she's not as strictly neat as before but still retains a lot of grace and precision (every inclusion has to align perfectly to create the asterism effect so like. that concept is part of it) she's not perfectly symmetrical though elements i'm keeping from her canon design: the "drop" shapes, her tome (maybe now on her waist? maybe more than one??), she still wears a dress, "pie" like plait, and her glasses maybe i'd add a six point star halo behind her?? idk yet but YEAH this is my self indulgent yuri slop and i love it

I've been thinking a lot about Croissant and Timekeeper (surprising absolutely nobody), and have ended up writing what is partially a character analysis, and partially a critique of how canon so often forgets major plot points and has its characters change completely to fit around the story, rather than having the story fit around the characters. I do still have hope that they will eventually follow through with what they have set up, though.

What I've noticed and potentially over analysed is that nowadays they're both following rules and protocols to the letter, and Timekeeper is properly running the tbd, but in timeguard, Timekeeper states that she became the director cause it seemed like a bit of fun. Plus, there's the obligation, the multiverse needs a TBD to keep things stable, but Timekeeper was less of a boss and more of an insatiable god, often speaking of how dull the rules are.

The rules they set in place, might I add. Obviously they had good reason to set these rules up: if the rules didn't exist, the multiverse could collapse due to the sheer amount of unregulated chaos. What I find interesting is how they just kept mentioning that the rules were boring and Croissant should honestly just break them. It's like they set the rules in place not so nobody would break them, but because they wanted to see if Croissant would despite knowing the consequences.

When it comes to Croissant, even she considers going against protocol many times throughout timeguard. Yes, a lot of this is because Timekeeper puts the ideas in her head, but the way she speaks implies she's been feeling dissatisfied with her life for a while, and Timekeeper ended up the way she did without anybody telling her what to do (quite the opposite really). While it's true that in the end she still values helping others and continuing on with her original goals, she still stays with Timekeeper willingly, and basically becomes the co-director/director's assistant (which is subsequently forgotten in mission save the future. Odd). While yes, she did it because she wanted to save Gingerbrave and his friends, I want to believe it's not the only reason based off of everything else she says.

Speaking of mission save the future, they are both oh so irresponsible. The entire plot happens cause Croissant fails to see how giving everyone a time manipulator could cause massive trouble. This is quite an interesting storyline for her, considering her original goal was to let everyone have equal access to these technologies, and it blows up in her face. It's almost as if the universe is constantly nudging her to give into her selfish desires and become like Timekeeper, and I do wonder if it's only a matter of time until she does. Though, with devsisters' current writing I sort of doubt they'd do something like this, but the change to her design that kingdom gave her sure doesn't seem to deny this theory. I do still want to have faith that devsisters will follow through with the storylines they set up, as they are quite exceptional at foreshadowing (example: having SCOOP-like skyscrapers in the background of Espresso's gacha illustration, and now having Espresso and SCOOP interact), but there's also a chance I'm making all of this up.

Continuing on with save the future, Ruler!Timekeeper completely throws away her position as director and jumps in a void never to be seen again because she simply cannot handle necessary aspects of her job. I am going to say that mission save the future confuses me the most out of any tbd story, and I don't really enjoy a lot of the decisions made, but it's still interesting to me that Timekeeper can't seem to handle the job she literally made for herself.

With Timekeeper gone, Croissant takes over as director partially, again, due to the need for a director, but mainly because of a mix of self loathing (being the reason Timekeeper left, at least that's what she thinks. In reality, she was the last straw), and a desperate need to find Timekeeper again. The writing in both timeguard and save the future aren't clear on why she's so desperate, as more often than not Croissant is seen getting upset with Timekeeper's antics, though it could tie back to her underlying desire to have the same powers as Timekeeper, as who better to teach her how to wield it than Timekeeper herself?

Director!Croissant is so focussed on finding Timekeeper that she opens rifts willy-nilly, which is an insanely dangerous thing to do. She is not at all regarding protocol or safety, she's not acting logically (which sure sounds like Timekeeper if you ask me, tying back to how I wholeheartedly believe something will happen in the story where Croissant ends up as either director or Timekeeper, and Timekeeper probably dies or something. She's lost half her face and died twice now, and Ruler's whole thing was that they couldn't stand seeing themself die over and over. Also, I feel the need to mention the fraction of Director!Croissant's face in the arcana of truth and deceit title screen, and yet we never saw her in the actual story).

Please keep in mind it has been a bit since I watched the stories, so my memory is a little muddy, and I often mistake canon and my rewrite, but I sure hope this made sense. This ended up being a lot longer than I anticipated, lol.
