Swap Love (Multiverse Traveler Ivy x Swap Papyrus)
Trigger Warnings: Mentions of Axetale. Mentions of nearly dying. Mentions of memory problems. Foul Language. Mentions of Stolkholm Syndrome and Kidnapping as well as Mafia boys.
Reminder: Ivy is not me. She is considered my "Persona". I am the "Creator" referred to. Ivy is an OC. Ivy is a disabled person. She has a service dog.
"Which universe are you visiting this time, Ivy?" Prism sighs as she eats her meal. Ivy shrugs, scrolling through her phone. Prism had a piece of toast and a pancake near her. The table was cracked from a lot of abuse when with this rowdy household.
"I'm not sure yet. This time, I'm probably going to hit the shuffle button." Prism rolls her eyes as Ivy responds casually.
"Again? You ended up in Axetale the last time. I had no choice but to save your sorry ass." Ivy shrugs as Prism growls. Ivy smiles innocently at her.
"You know I could've handled it~!" Prism rolls her eyes as Ivy makes a cheeky joke. Prism leans back, fiddling with the cuffs of her jacket.
"Yes, indeed. Then the next time, I'll let you have your head chopped off." Prism responds smugly. Ivy gives her a hurt look and falls off her chair in "tears."
"You'd abandon me to die? But we're sisters!" Ivy cries dramatically and clutches her chest. Prism rolls her eyes.
"Oh, Mileena, don't be so dramatic." Prism cracks a joke and Ivy gasps in surprise. She casts a glare.
"WELL, EXCUSE ME, KITANA," Ivy exclaims in shock, clutching her chest. "Perhaps I wouldn't be such a monster if you loved me!" Ivy yells, and Ian enters the kitchen, puzzled. Since Camari was sleeping, Kami has been flying alongside him.
"What exactly are you two yelling about?" Ian sighed as he sipped his coffee. As she sips her tea, Prism sighs.
"Ivy, darling, wants to keep pressing the shuffle button as she travels through the multiverse." Prism mumbles and Ian fixes his gaze on his sister.
"Even though-"
"Indeed."
"But we-"
"I could have handled it," Ivy responds smugly to her brother. Ian sighs and facepalms.
"No, you were flirting with Axetale Sans. You couldn't have handled it." In response, Ian grumbled. Ivy whimpers as Prism nods.
"You wound me, brother." Before she gets up, Ivy says dramatically. She goes to walk away. Prism watches with disinterest.
"Where are you going, Ivy?" As Ivy huffed and crossed her arms, and Prism grumbled.
"I'm going to do the multiverse shuffle!" Prism immediately tries to stop Ivy after she responded back. Unfortunately, the older woman is powerless to stop her.
"IVY!"
-----------------------------------
"Welp. Now I have no idea where I am! That is the most exciting aspect of the multiverse shuffle!" Ivy laughs as she walks down the street. She is aware that she is only on the surface. As she walks through the streets, she hums. She was reading on her phone that this was the standard Undertale pacifist ending. Maybe she was in Undertale again? Suddenly, she bumps into someone and falls backward.
"Ah, shit, sorry." The person apologized to her. She shook her head in an "I'm fine" movement as she looks up to see a skeletal hand offering to help her up. She looks up and blushes. SHIT- SHIT! IT'S STRETCH- OH GOD- she quietly takes his hand and he helps her up. She pats her dress down and gives a sheepish grin.
"No, no. I'm sorry. I bumped into you. I guess I was distracted." Ivy rubs the back of her neck nervously as she chuckles. She's never visited the Swap Universe. She assumed it was, but the mixed magic indicated that it was most likely a mash-up of AUs. She hummed wondering which ones, but he helps her up.
"Since I caused you to fall and stuff, I guess I can walk you home?" Ivy panics as Stretch asks. She doesn't even have a home on this AU! Shit, SHIT. OH NO... Hold on. She's a multiverse traveler, and the AU is always adjusting to accommodate the new anomaly of a multiverse traveler. She checks her phone and sighs with relief, knowing she's not trapped in this universe. The last time this happened, they had to literally cut a hole in the multiverse, which irritated the creator more than a little. "Uh... Miss?" Stretch calls and Ivy snaps out of her thoughts.
"Uh, um, sure. Thank you. I'm Ivy, by the way." Ivy introduces herself and Stretch stares at her for a second before chuckling.
"Ivy must be a common name. My ex-girlfriend was named Ivy. For a split second, I mistook you for her." Stretch mentions it, and Ivy is taken aback. Oh! Of course, I'm a traveler in the multiverse. The original. There must be another "me" here. Ivy thinks to herself.
"Oh, yeah, surprisingly, it's a common name," Ivy responds with a shrug and a sluggish grin. Stretch nods and then remembers she needs to ask his name. "And what is your name?" Ivy enquires. Stretch hums as he looks over and then back.
"Stretch." Stretch introduces himself, and Ivy takes his hand in hers and shakes it. She had half-expected a whoopie cushion but was pleasantly surprised.
"Cool name." Ivy grins at him. She's heard and made up crazier names. She begins to walk and Stretch follows. She was texting a furious Prism.
Angry Villain Me: YOU- I CAN'T- HOW DARE- I-
Ivy: Kitana, finish your sentences.
Angry Villain Me: YOU DUMB BITCH, I CAN'T FIND YOU. WHERE HAVE YOU GONE?
Ivy: I have no idea :p.
Angry Villain Me: THAT'S WHY YOU DON'T USE THE SHUFFLE BUTTON!
Ivy: Don't be upset with me! I'm aware that it's an AU mixed with other AUs.
Angry Villain Me:...
Angry Villain Me: Yeah, because that NARROWS IT DOWN TOTALLY.
Ivy: Welp, now I can enjoy it without you interrupting me.
Angry Villain Me: IVY-
"I have to ask, where did you come from? I mean... not to be impolite... But I've never seen you around. I'm sure I would have noticed you because this is a small city." Stretch brings it up. Ivy tightens her muscles and gulps a dry lump in her throat.
"I'm from out of town. I've just moved here." Ivy responded, and welp, she was right. She didn't lie to Stretch because she knew she couldn't. She wasn't from here; she came from another universe entirely, but why would she tell him that? He'd probably go insane. The worst option is they ask her to help fix the machine, but she is terrible at doing so. She's broken laptops and other items with a single touch, and most headphones don't even last long with her.
"I see. Ya know, you have a habit of spacing out." Stretch mentions and Ivy blushes. She looks down and moves hair out of her face.
"Yeah, I've got a lot on my mind. With the move and everything." Ivy easily explains her spacing out. She'd gotten good at lying, and he couldn't tell unless he checked her, which she suspected he wouldn't do just yet. But she wasn't completely lying, so it's all good. I mean, I'm not entirely lying, so everything is fine! I'm not innocent, and I'm not telling the whole truth, but hey, I'm not completely lying! Stretch drew Ivy into his chest while she was lost in thought. She blushes as she realizes she has almost hit a pole. She flushes a deeper red.
"Ya know, my bro and I can totally help you with the move if you space out so badly that you almost walk into a pole." Stretch hums and Ivy shyly nods. Yes, she should probably relax about getting lost in her thoughts.
"Thanks for saving me and sure. I'd appreciate a bit of help." Ivy nodded and grinned. Anything for a chance to hang out with you. She hummed, thinking. Stretch could hear her phone buzzing and she sighed to look at it. Prism was texting her and OH GOD, so was Ian. She immediately answered her brother.
Brother Dearest: I cannot believe you've done this
Brother Dearest: We warned you not to do it!
Brother Dearest: Do you even know where you are???
Brother Dearest: Prism is losing her shit.
Brother Dearest: I believe she destroyed the couch.
Ivy: Awww, c'mon, bro-bro, you love me.
Ivy: Save my couch!
Ivy: But no, I have no idea.
Brother Dearest: This is why you don't press the shuffle button.
Brother Dearest: What if you're in a mafia universe and get kidnapped for a "Stockholm syndrome" romance fic?
Ivy: First and foremost, let's get this straight. That is not something the creator would do. She despises fics like that. She'd scream at them.
Ivy: Even IF they're well-written.
Ivy: Second, I'd gladly be kidnapped by mafia boys if they fell for me.
Brother Dearest: But you despise being chained in places.
Ivy: That's assuming they can get their hands on me.
Ivy: If they did, I'm not stuck with them. They're stuck with me.
Ivy: But I know I'm not in a mafia verse. I'm with Stretch right now actually.
Brother Dearest: You've only recently entered that world and you're already with your fictitious husband? You're very fortunate.
Ivy: He says he dated this universe's "me". So... That's gonna be awkward.
Brother Dearest: So, I'm assuming you were switched with Camari because you'd cry if he broke up with you.
Brother Dearest: Have fun.
Ivy: You're not mad?
Brother Dearest: Not at all? Not any longer, at any rate. You're always behaving in this manner. After all, you're a risk-taker.
Ivy: Is my couch okay? :'<
Brother Dearest: Camari saved it, so it's fine.
Ivy: Yay! Tell Camari I love her!
Brother Dearest: Mk, love ya, baby sis.
"You seemed to have gone through a series of emotions there. What's up?" Stretch asks. Ivy chuckles and shrugs.
"My brother sent me a text message. It's not a big deal." Ivy responds and joins him on his walk. Stretch responds with a hum. "He lives in the neighborhood where I used to live. He couldn't come to my aid because he was worried about my half-blind sister." Ivy elaborates. Stretch nods and hums. Ivy was partially lying about that. Prism could care for herself, but because she was half-blind, she required the assistance of a caregiver whenever she lost her glasses or contacts. She's blind without them.
"I see. You got family then? What're they like?" Stretch inquires. Ivy concludes that this is most likely small talk, but she decided to indulge because she was supposed to act as if she didn't know who this skeleton was.
"Oh. Well. I have three siblings: an older brother, an older sister, and a younger sister. We live with friends who..." With the mention of Camari's sisters and the butterflies, Ivy counts her fingers. Chou, Kami, Hime, Camari, Omari, and Utau are among the names she remembers. Tessora, she thinks, also lives with them. "Has five sisters. Adding onto one of my brother's friends." Ivy explains. Stretch chuckles and looks at her.
"Must have lived in a rowdy house then," Stretch responds as he stretches a bit. Ivy stretches and nods.
"Yeah, needed to get away from it," Ivy says, but Stretch just hums.
"That doesn't tell me anything about what they're like," Stretch says, and Ivy mentally sighs. She completely forgot about it while attempting to recall how many people lived with her! She is in desperate need of her memory book.
"Oh! That's correct. I forgot. My older brother is a wonderful man who constantly nags me. He does, however, have a temper." Ivy begins to explain as she begins to scribble notes in her memory book. In case she forgets, it's on her phone. "My older sister is resentful and angry, but she has the best intentions. She's simply resentful of her circumstances." Stretch observes as Ivy continues to speak and looks at her phone to refresh her memory. "My younger sister is away at college. She's a bit of a brat, but I still adore her." Ivy continues to speak with a shrug.
"I see. Sounds like a variety of personalities." Stretch hums and Ivy nods. She knew her siblings well. She knew they'd find her eventually, but she's really not up for leaving yet. "So, I noticed you tend to write everything you say down on your phone, why?" Stretch asks. Ivy jumps a bit as she looks at her phone. She always did do this.
"I have some memory issues, so I write everything down so I don't forget," Ivy says calmly and casually. Her memory issues were not the worst in the world, but she finds solace in having something to help her remember things.
"How much does it hinder you?" Stretch asks as they walk. Ivy hums and sighs.
"Everything depends on the day. Most of the time, I remember everything fairly well, but every now and then, I wake up with no recollection of anything from the prior day. Fortunately, I have my trusty samoyed to assist me. She's my service dog." Ivy continues on her journey. She is aware that her samoyed follows her around at all times. She didn't have her right now, most likely because she shuffled, but she will follow her around the multiverse, Aspen.
"Did you forget about her?" Stretch inquires, clearly concerned. Ivy walks with a nod. Ivy knew Aspen would find them, and she could feel her dog approaching in a few minutes.
"She usually finds me when I forget about her," Ivy says before a barking sound draws her attention. Aspen rushes over and nuzzles her neck, and she looks over. "Hello, sweetie." As Aspen's tail wags, Ivy greets. Aspen licks Stretch's hand excitedly as he kneels down and pets her. Ivy didn't stop him from helping her get on Aspen's service dog vest, harness, and leash. "Can you show me the way home? I had forgotten how to get there." Aspen nodded as Ivy cooed. Aspen's memory was superior to hers. She recalls very specific details such as routes and buildings. She has no idea how she analyzes everything, but she is intelligent.
"You just moved here, right? Why would she know it very well?" Stretch asked. Ivy shrugged as she walked with Aspen.
"Aspen has a better memory than you and I. She can analyze and memorize any route that is presented to her." Aspen leads the way with Ivy's hand on her leash, and Ivy responds. Stretch nods and turns to face her opening his mouth to ask her something. "Oh, my brother got her for me when he found out I had memory problems," Ivy explains as she walks alongside Aspen. Ivy didn't require a caregiver because her memory problems were minor, but Camari and Aspen frequently assisted her when she had a bad memory lapse.
"Don't you need a caretaker? Do you live alone?" Stretch asked and Ivy shook her head in response.
"No way. I'm capable of looking after myself. My memory issues aren't all that bad." Ivy enthusiastically responds. Her doctor said her memory problems wouldn't interfere with her life, so she didn't need a caregiver, but she did recommend a service animal, a prescription, and making sure she had contact with her siblings in case she forgot the day before. They keep walking when they come across a lovely house. It was Ivy's dream house, with boxes in front of it. She knew it was hers because Aspen led her to it.
"Welp, we're here. Hey, uh, Ivy." Stretch calls out, and Ivy takes a look. He takes a step forward, takes her phone, and dials a number into it. "My number, in case you need help or forget." Stretch gave her a sluggish grin. Ivy's eyes sparkled and she blushed as she walked inside, mumbling a thank you to him. She gives a wave and shuts the door. Aspen's tail wags as Ivy blushes and clutches her chest.
"Well... That's something."
