MSc Molecular Neuroscience here I come...

Even though studying medicine has been the ultimate goal for so long, over the last few months/year working in healthcare I have begun to question whether it really is the job I want to do for the rest of my life.

Because I’ve come to realise the reality - it is exhausting hours with little gratitude and time for anything else in life. There’s a huge part of me that craves being a doctor, but now there’s also a part of me that craves time and space and energy for the other things that I enjoy in life - like dancing, working out, reading a book, learning a language, watching a film. Will I always be too exhausted, have too much to study, have shifts that are too long to enjoy any of this?

I can’t stay in the job I’m currently doing forever. As great as it is, it doesn’t challenge me, and there’s not much opportunity to progress and make a career of it. So eventually I’ll need to find something that will satisfy and fulfil me.

So I’ve been thinking about research, maybe pursuing a PhD in future, going on to do something like lecturing. My only worry is that I didn’t really get the opportunity to get involved with a lot research during my undergraduate degree. I thought about doing a master’s course, one that would offer me the opportunity to gain confidence in research and also give me chance to really get into a subject that will interest me and challenge me. 

I fell in love with a course in Molecular Neuroscience and I’m so excited to say I’ve accepted an offer to begin studying in September. 

Having received so much rejection from countless medicine applications, it was refreshing to be given an unconditional offer to study a course I actually really wanted to do.

Needless to stay I’m sure this studyblr will become much more active from then on!

i did it. || 10th of March, 2017.

( p e r s o n a l ) A few hours ago I received an unconditional offer for an incredible masters degree at, I dare say, one of Europe's best universities for that particular as well as my formerly studied subjects. Oh my God. I feel a bit dizzy and overwhelmed and quite frankly bursting with excitement and joy, so it will take a bit of time to sink in. And not only will the university in general and the department specifically offer amazing opportunities; I will also be living in one of the largest European cities which includes me moving to another country. I can't wait. There are so many possibilities. And maybe, just maybe... I'm almost afraid to say it, but... ...there could be a new path for my writing, maybe even for a novel. Now I need to lie down and fully realize everything. There's so much to do, but for now I can only think: I did it.

23/100 So I was just sitting writing my essay for ethics when my mum brought in the post and I found I have an UNCONDITIONAL OFFER TO STUDY LAW. That literally never happens.

I just got a letter through the post saying I've been selected to receive an unconditional offer to Chester University if I put them as my firm offer 😬😬😬

So it's A-Level Results Day tomorrow

Here's the thing, I got an unconditional university offer, right? but there is still the underlying personal pressure to do well, which, honestly is normal.

i even wanted to check on various websites (UK approved) and they have said variations of the same thing:

Security: Accepting an unconditional offer means that you have already secured your place on the course, regardless of your exam results.

Reduced stress: Without the pressure of having to achieve certain grades, you may experience reduced stress and be able to focus on other aspects of your life.

Freedom: An unconditional offer can give you the freedom to explore other opportunities or take a gap year without worrying about meeting academic requirements.

Time to prepare: With an unconditional offer, you may feel you have more time to prepare for university and start planning your future.

And I have experienced l reduced stress and time to prepare for my degree, but because I did EPQ, English Lit, History (it's also the degree i wanna do), and Psychology - what would happen if I fail one, but achieve the other three? would i have to go through clearing like everyone else? or am i a special case because of me already meeting qualifications?

idk, this post was originally meant to be an update post, but i guess now i'm just letting myself let my thoughts and feelings through. But if someone does have answers for the questions above, then:

Life update!

Hello everyone!

Here are a few things that have happened since I disappeared:

- I got an offer at King’s College London for Biomedical Sciences (Conditional offer with ABC)

- I got an offer at UCL for Biomedical Sciences (Conditional offer with AAB)

- I am waiting for a response from Imperial College London WHO HAS ACCEPTED MY BMAT RESULTS EVEN AFTER THE WHOLE MESS WITH THE CANDIDATE NAME (see a previous post about it)

- I have started online tutoring 

- I am in a band again!!

- I am starting charity live-streams where I will sing and play songs to raise money for different charities EACH MONTH. I will post a link to the fundraiser at least a week in advance of the live-stream so you can support me (and my friend if she’s helping me with guitar) too!

- I am going to start posting covers on Smule again! Please follow me here

- I started writing my own songs which will be recorded soon!

- I am going to start using my Goodwall account more
