"Strength lies in differences, not in similarities."
- attributed to Stephen R. Covey
Gentle Reminder (for my dear Friend @rubenesque-dollyd-93 ).
Only when we have gotten used to the uniformity do we realise who we really are.
« C’était encore une lutte que de maintenir certaines valeurs locales et particulières, une culture distincte, dans ce terrible maelström, cette terrible avalanche vers l’uniformité. La lutte se résume à préserver l’âme individuelle. »
— Ezra Pound, interviewé par Donald Hall, « The Art of Poetry No. 5 », The Paris Review, n° 28 (été–automne 1962).

The opposite of diversity is death
(The opposite of diversity is not uniformity, but death, because an ecosystem collapses and dies long before it reaches the theoretical--but physically impossible--point of uniformity. And we are all each an ecosystem of our own, on top of being an interconnected and dependent part of the biosphere. This is why fascism is a death cult. Diversity is the essence of life itself.)
