My first ever post on tumbl of r….I present the star sans’s in my warrior cats AU. Because what is life without star cats’s
lore may be mildly inaccurate because I made this 5 days ago, and while my pen draws at the pace of a snail on melatonin, my brain (when writing lore) takes it upon itself to race. Or write like ur running out of time. Like Hamilton.
I love sans aus
please question me about them (about the warrior cats au, I have plenty of lore planned >:]…)
UT Gaster’s research into the power of souls and determination as a resource that could be used to fuel the underground led him to discover the time altering properties of determination. (if frisk/the player and flower were able to utilize save files, who’s to say gaster was not capable of similar things as a result of his years of work?) Upon learning about the existence of alternate timelines, I believe he had the goal to bring all citizens of the underground to an alternate world (the world of deltarune) to save them from their entrapment in the underground. He didn’t just want power, or knowledge, or go too far in one of his experiments. Not dissimilar to alphys, he just wanted the monsters he gave hope to, as their royal scientist, to be able to live happily on the surface. To him there was no sacrifice on his part that would be too great, if it meant saving them all. I think his time-warping determination shenanigans are related to the skelebros weirdness, why they remembered resets, why lots of people theorize both ut and deltarune sans and possibly papyrus are one and the same. I’ve never seen people talk about UT gaster’s motives beyond the strange, mysterious, and sometimes villainous archetype we have all just agreed to associate with him. We think he’s just doing the survey program and all this stuff for the love of the game, or because he’s just curious. I personally don’t think that’s the case. He’s the devil! His number is 666! But chara was also associated with demonic traits. So are goats, and technically all of our beloved characters are “monsters”. I think, like every other friend we make in undertale, gaster cares deeply for his fellow monsters, and wants nothing more than for them to be happy and safe on the surface, no matter the cost, no matter how hard he has to try, no matter what happens to him.
Deltarune gaster went to college with Toriel, Asgore, Carol, and Rudy, to be a doctor. Perhaps just in physical health, perhaps also learning about mental health, or even wanting to specialize in humans (did he share carols interest in heart shaped objects?). When he returned to home after his studies, he worked in the middle room of the hospital, which we see in the chapter 4 egg rom, which has since disappeared since his undertale self scattered them across time and space. My most subjective part of this theory is that I think Hometown did not have a therapist, until (sort of) the event that traumatized kris, and the dreemurrs asked gaster, as their good friend, to use whatever knowledge he had to try to help their human child, and perhaps other kids in hometown as well (thus forming the art club?). I just think hometown has the vibes of not really knowing what therapy is at first lmao. During this period of helping kris, he may have given them and other monsters he was helping an egg to take home, as that might have been a part of psychology which he learned or heard about (however it’s uncommon for therapists to do this in child therapy, so for this specific trait at least, it would make more sense if gaster did this as a teacher at the school, and gave all students in his class an egg to take home, idk if i’ve seen anyone in the fandom mention this!) Leading to parts of himself after being split across time and space to be the entity we consider the egg man.
UT Gaster is not fond of his DR counterpart, who got to live on the surface and take it for granted, who perhaps would be against UT gaster’s plans to bring his fellow monsters to hometown, especially if it involved replacing their deltarune counterparts, or anything bad to befall them. Perhaps whatever powers gaster has gained through his experiments/determination, the egg man also has access to in their shared shattered state. This would give the egg man a greater ability to impact the game than gaster would like. I think this is the route of his distaste for the man behind the tree (why we don’t get the finished chapter successfully achievement if you interact with the egg man).
One last minute deltarune theory waiter!! Sorry if this has any spelling mistakes or errors, i just wanted to write this down real quick before the deltarune right now :3
Alsoo i feel the specific’s of what gaster did/all the different ways time and the game can be affected by your and other’s determination is the hardest part to pin down in this theory. I just cant give you specific details confidently, so i’m sorry if that part feels janky!
I really enjoy Asgore as a character because most likely he is the single strongest person in both Undertale and Deltarune, but he's so depressed and divorced his power is like always capped at 40%.
