Whatever deities or divine power created you, they made you perfectly. You are meant to be here, your body is natural and wonderful, and you are not a mistake.
Whether you be of a Native religion, Christian, Catholic, Jewish, Islamic, Bahai'i, Buddhist, Jainist, Hinduist, Sikhist, Confucianist, Toaist, Shintoist, Zoroastrian, Reconstructionist Pagan, Eclectic Pagan, Druidist, Wiccan, or something else not listed - you are glorious, you are marvelous, and it is a shame that humans have treated something natural about you as something alien or wrong.
You are blessed, regardless of whether you are on the chest variation spectrum, ambiguous genital/reproductive spectrum, the urethral variation spectrum, the penile variation spectrum, the agenital or areproductive spectrum, the split/duplicated genital/reproductive spectrum, the hormonal variation spectrum, and/or the chromosomal variation spectrum.
I thought I should make a more official and formal post about mesospadias to refer to, so here it is.
Mesospadias
"Mesospadias," a term created within the intersex community by me and @yourfaveisintersex , describes a urethral positioning on ambiguous genitalia where both the terms "vulvar epispadias" and "penile hypospadias" are applicable.
This can mean the urethra is anywhere ranging from just directly underneath the phallus/clitorophallus (as that is where vulvar epispadias is described in its lowest position) to just below the tip/head of the phallus (as that is where penile hypospadias is described in its highest position).
I will not gatekeep this term heavily. I think it can be applicable to anyone with ambiguous genitalia, including those with "milder" forms. People with clitoromegaly, micropenis, any form of having both a vagina/vulva and a penis, pseudophalluses, and all other forms of ambiguous genitalia are welcome to use this label if it accurately describes their urethral positioning. Keep in mind that while anyone with any form of ambiguous genitalia can use the term "mesospadias," it was especially made with people who have both vulvas and penises in mind.
Please note that mesospadias can look and be different depending on the following:
-Whether the person has multiple phalluses
-The size and shape of the person's phallus/es
-Whether the person has survived IGM
-Whether the person has undergone surgery of any kind in the genitalia region
-Whether the person has used HRT of some kind (this would not change the position of a urethra, but it does usually change genitalia to some degree)
-And thousands more things! Everyone with mesospadias is different.
Vulvar epispadias definition: Where a urethra is positioned on a vulva in a higher-than-typical area, ranging from just directly underneath the clitoris to anywhere above the clitoris. (Although some definitions may vary depending on the kind of genitalia one has)
Penile hypospadias definition: Where a urethra is positioned on a phallus in a lower-than-typical area, ranging from just directly below the head/tip of the phallus to anywhere below the phallus. (Although some definitions may vary depending on the kind of genitalia one has)
I went to the gynecologist recently and man, I had WAY too fuck faith in em
I should’ve already been suspicious when she went “so you think you could have some internal testicles?” In reference to me believing in intersex
She told me that everything was “normal” and when I tried to point out I could have hypospadias, like, pointing out my urethra was low, she just said that I have all the parts.
It didn’t help that the diagram in the room also had the urethra placed lower than in, like, every other diagram I’ve ever seen.
I was almost convinced I was actually perisex and a hypochondriac until I checked again myself only to realize I very much have hypospadias and she just had no idea wtf I was talking about. She just kept saying I was “normal”.
(Also when I checked I realized in addition to hypospadias, I also seem to have urethral duplication(which I already suspected) and PUGS 🙂)
this is intermisogyny.
so many intersex traits and variations get brushed off for people feminized because hey, you have all the parts to reproduce who cares if they're not in the typical place? and it's disgusting.
There’s something undeniably beautiful about a full steel lineup.
Different lengths. Different curves. Different sensations waiting to happen.
This ultimate sounding kit isn’t about rushing — it’s about patience, control, and the quiet thrill of cold stainless steel warming slowly against the body. Everything arranged neatly in its own case like instruments waiting for a performance.
For those who understand that precision is part of the pleasure.
Intersex people with genital variations deserve to talk about their experiences beyond IGM.
People with ambiguous genitals. People with penile traits. People with urethral traits. People with agenital traits.
They deserve to have answers about their bodies, to hear about other people like them. To be diagnosed, to be acknowledged at doctors offices, to see their variations during sex ed and anatomy class.
They deserve to speak about sex, urination, defecation, menstruation, birth.
Nearly half - if not more - of the intersex community have genital variants. Hormonal, reproductive, and chromosomal variations often cause genital variations to form as well.
This is okay to admit. It is not genitalism to want more medically relevant or positive attention to the experiences of intersex genitals. That is the opposite of genitalism. Genitalism is when intersex genitals are demonized, fetishized, used as a talking point, or treated as the only intersex variation there is.
You can say "hormonal, chromosomal, and reproductive variations deserve more attention" without saying "genital variations deserve less attention."
Vulva hypospadias culture is no you can't put that in there. It doesn't actually feel good at all. That shit hurts YOU'RE JAMMING AGAINST MY URETHRA OW OW STOP IT.
"That" referring to tampons, penetrative sex, medical tools that go up there etc.
questioning ambiguous genitalia with urethral variations culture is "of course every cafab perisex person feels like theyre peeing out of their clitoris, that they need to pee when aroused, and that they feel pain in their clitoris when they get utis! of course of course (sweats nervously)"
questiining ambiguous genitalia with uretgral variations culture is...

sorry about posting with a huge delay, the post got lost in drafts
pretty pleeeaase could you share a link to the 20+ page German study you mentioned. that's my first language
Click here (link), click 509 at the top right to jump down, then scroll down to page 522. I recommend screenshotting them asap and possibly even uploading those elsewhere so you don't accidentally delete them, because Google books loves randomly making content unavailable
Google isn't doing a great job at grabbing and translating the text but .. omfg. Page 527 is the closest description I've ever found to my body. I'm currently trying to hold back tears while I'm at work. I've found some ones that are similar in other VH studies but this is the closest I've ever read I genuinely want to cry
