Hey. In college, I had to down a cup of vodka and cut out a broken tooth with a sharp pair of tweezers because I couldn't afford dental care. I didn't die, but wouldn't it have been nice to have a doctor do it instead? Funny thing, cutting it out myself actually led me to receiving temporary insurance through Medicaid to deal with the raging infection I got from cutting it out--an infection that definitely COULD have killed me if I had let it fester. You ever cut out a tooth because you couldn't go to the dentist? No? Because that's a little delulu, right? Because that's a little crazy to do in a "first-world" country, right? Because that's a little crazy to do in the same country where there's a street called Rodeo Drive where they have American Eagle mannequins dressed up in thousand-dollar suits, right?
The poor will get through this, they'll adapt per usual and cut out their teeth, or whatever else they need to do to avoid another bill they can't afford. Or they'll die trying...
