well i had my appointment with the eye specialist today and my Anterior Uveitis has become Intermediate Uveitis, it's affecting the middle part of the eye and my optic nerves are a bit swollen due to the inflammation and that's what's probably causing this never ending headache of mine.

i got back next week and they're going to set me up with a retina specialist so this can be treated as soon as possibly and aggressively because it can become Posterior Uveitis and that's the version that could make me loos my vision and i don't want that. i just have to wait for an email from the eye specialist to see when i see the retina specialist.

oh and they want me to get some blood work done and some xrays on my chest. idk why the xrays but hey it'll be nice to know if there was anything else wrong with me.

I went to put on eyeliner yesterday for the first time in a few months because I finally got a new pencil eyeliner. I did my left eye fine, but when I went to do my right eye, I literally couldn't tell where my eyelid was or where my eyelashes were. I'm terrified because my uveitis is mainly in my left eye and connected to my arthritis, so if my eye got worse, there's a high chance my arthritis did too. Now I'm just pissed because I wanted to wear eyeliner and I can't do it, not only because of my hands, but because my eyes got worse.

Left pupil seems to be stuck. Sight in left eye is incredibly blurry, like clingfilm over a camera lens.

I am irrationally pleased to have received a 🎃prezzie from my own personal vampires* and wish to share my joy

*Better still, this was a competent vampire.

It's been a year and a half since my RL Monty Python Medical Adventure: 2 hours, 5 phlebotomists, 8 needles to draw 12 vials of blood. One of them used a truly novel approach: needle perpendicular to vein! (Not attempted: offering me a drink or sending me away to hydrate, oops.)

Anyway, yes, adventures in chronic illness. All hail the vampires keeping me from blindness after covid turned my arthritis against my eyes.
