Death Defying Hurt/Comfort Idea

Danny and Dick are dating, their relationship is at the stage where its beginning stages of getting serious. Because Dick's family is so important to him, he wants to introduce Danny to them; And since Dick and Danny live in Bludhaven, they stay at the manor for a week.

But the Wayne's really don't like Danny. He so different from the kinds of people Dick usually goes for, and none of the family really thinks the relationship is going to last. Danny's so ordinary, with seemingly no career goals, not to mention hes weird, completely disregarding his strange family, Danny himself is just weird. The only ones who are open to Danny are Cass and Jason, Cass because Danny is harmless, and Jason because he could care less about the situation. Alfred has his doubts about the relationship lasting, but hes polite and kind regardless.

Danny is super uncomfortable. He can feel that nobody really likes him, but he wants his relationship with Dick to go good so he puts up with it. He deals with the nitpicking, and dirty looks, and judgemental stares, and criticism, and he doesn't say a word about it to Dick because he looks so happy spending time with his family.

But then it goes too far. Damian says something thats just a bit too scathing, and Danny can't stop himself bursting into tears, he excuses himself back to his room, Dick following behind him worriedly, completely confused.

In the room, after Danny has mostly stopped crying he tells Dick he doesn't want to be around his family anymore. He really likes Dick, and hes not breaking up with him or making him choose between Danny and his Family, but Danny refuses to surround himself with people who hate him. He had already gone 7(ish) years in that kind of environment back in Amity Park and he just, he doesn't want to put up with that again. At the end of his explaination, Danny is crying all over again, memories of his Parents hating him as Phantom and his Peers hating him as Danny for the sin of simply existing still fresh in his head.

Dick apologizes profusely, he had no idea they where saying or doing any of those things. He thought maybe Danny would get a shovel or two, and Damian would grump around like a feral cat but, had he known how bad they were being he would have immediately pulled Danny to leave. Its too early to call what he feels for Danny love, but he deeply cares for him all the same and Danny doesn't have to, and shouldn't have deal with that kind of treatment.

Once they're calmed down, Dick and Danny pack, and leave. Its too late to drive back to Bludhaven, so they go to a hotel, and make plans to cuddle up with a movie in the hotel room.

Bruce tries to stop Dick at the door, but Dick just tells him he doesn't want to see the family at the moment. That his family hurt someone Dick was starting to care deeply about for absolutely no reason disgusted Dick and he didn't want to be around them right now. Maybe, he'd reach out in a few weeks, after he cleared his head. With that he shut the door, and continued to the car where Danny was waiting.

Basically: Bat Clan being overprotective and that translating to them being assholes to Danny until he cries and Dick decides to solidify boundaries while comforting his partner

Writing Prompt # 23

Gone..

It's been a whole week since she died, but it doesn't feel real... They didn't even tell us until five days after the fact.. Maybe I'm in shock? Maybe I just never cared that much to begin with...

How do you grieve when you don't feel like you've lost anything..? I guess that's my lesson to learn....

"What happened?"

"Don't worry about it."

"You'll feel better if you talk about it."

"I don't want to."

"It's not good to keep emotions bottled up inside."

"Oh, really? Is that right?"

"Yeah, it's not healthy to keep everything to yourself. Sometimes you gotta shout your frustrations to the rooftops."

"OK. Fine. I'll tell you how I feel. It feels like you don't give a fuck about me. You just want the drama. All you wanna hear is the next installment of your little soap opera. Well, guess what? It's not a fucking soap opera! It's my goddammned life! What happens in it is none of your goddamn business!"

(just gonna vent write, sorry) "I don't fucking care, okay?!" Hero slammed their fist against the wall, startling Villain. "Just drop it, I'm not jealous!" "But it seems you are, though.." Villain replied, furrowing their eyebrows. "Ever since I've been talking to that civilian, you've been distant." Hero let out a frustrated sigh, their hands balling into fists. "It's just.. I don't like the way they're talking to you." They squeezed their eyes shut, smacking their own face. "I'm overreacting... Aren't I?" Villain stared at them with an unreadable expression on their face. Without a word, they got up and hugged Hero. They didn't say anything but they understood. Hero soon hugged back, burying their face into the crook of their neck. "I'm sorry." "It's alright."

a whumpee who loves touch and hugs, they need to be next to (preferrably touching) caretaker almost constantly. they find it super comforting. but caretaker is very sensitive to being touched, and too much of it makes them feel closed-in and frustrated. on a particularily bad day (for both of them), whumpee tries to hug caretaker, and caretaker snaps at them. they yell every little thought they've been thinking for the past few months, every annoyance and ever inconvenience. they don't mean any of it of course, they're just frustrated.

whumpee, of course, takes all of it to heart, and even after caretaker has calmed down and apologized, explaining they didn't mean any of it, they're still uneasy around caretaker, and it won't be so easy to get over that.

Tears spill down the girl's face. She knows he is just a fictional character, but he feels like so much more. She feels for him. She feels with him.

He lost someone rather important to him; she lost him when he lost her.

She knows it's real. It's not a fiction. No story tale here.

But oh how she wished it was.

// Okay so this prompt is very different and among us-ish based because I had a nightmare of it last night. Sorry if it’s either pretty vague or pretty sad, I was fucking traumatised when I dreamt of this.

Also, when people get voted out they get shot instead of being ejected. Imposters must kill everyone until no one is left standing but themselves. If they win, they get millions of cash. If they lose, they get killed. //

“I’m.. the imposter?” Hero said to themself, eyes wide. “But.. I’m supposed to save everyone.. Not kill them.” They glanced down at the knife they held, before throwing it away. “I can’t do this.. I must save them.”

Hero went around accompanying people, and protected them when they sensed danger.

Villain was a crewmate, and they looked terrified. Everytime they would round a corner they would stop and check to see if anyone was there. They tagged along with Hero because they trusted them.

But once they both reached Security, Superhero, Hero’s teammate, swooped in and stabbed Villain in the back multiple times.

“[Villain’s name]!” Hero screamed, but it was too late, Villain was dead.

Superhero fled the scene through a vent, but Hero stayed there. They didn’t want to leave them. Although it meant getting voted out, they couldn’t care less. They just lost someone they loved.

whumpee has been a part of a team for years. they've grown to call them their family, even. theres not a memory they have with them that they'd ever give up.

but somehow, slowly whumpee starts to feel.. off. they start noticing that the way their team treats them is different than everyone else. but that's not right? they love their team, they're probably just imagining things. their team doesn't hate them, right?

finally, one of the team members blows up on whumpee. they go on and on for so long, so aggressively and offensively, that whumpee has an anxiety attack as a result. but they're just voicing their concerns, right? all the hostility, that's just who X is! whumpee solidifies everything X says in their mind and, against their and their friends' best judgement, they stay a member of the team.

after more and more incidents like this, whumpee finally leaves. it feels amazing, at first. they finally see how toxic X was, and they feel so free. but then the anxiety sets in, the aching desire to know what their team really thinks of them. this grows for a while, and finally they ask their s/o, who's still in the group. and, to whumpee's horror, their fears are realized.

their team never loved them.
