I love skylanders games so much but you can really see the difference in style depending on who's making the game
Like, toys for Bob has that classic early 2000's game feel, very nice, the true embodiment of skylanders tbh, the creativity and charm is abundant. Memorable and unique characters, imaginative and enjoyable plots, just amazing - some of the most iconic games. They usually keep most stylistic choices consistent across games to make the continuity feel more fluid too (fonts, ui, character design elements, game mechanics, etc.)
But the vicarious visions games (albeit still having similar charm) have a style that feels like it leans more towards the depth of the worldbuilding with a crisp, real-feeling undertone yk. Also it feels a bit less like a kids game with the way it's made. Like it feels very refined (especially swap force, mwah mwah ily)
and a lot of people criticize superchargers for the car gimmick and the shift of tone, but despite being slightly more modern feeling and a bit grittier than most skylanders games I feel like it's one of the best developed storylines in the series, it takes its antagonists seriously as threats, raises the stakes for everyone involved, and can even often parallel real world issues (even though the handling of the trolls species is still distasteful)
All the games are amazing but the difference in styles is honestly so cool to see imo
(Observe, the stylization vibes)
(I'm excluding imaginators bc that's a whole other can of worms, but it is a toys for Bob game I'm pretty sure)
