Look at Rhodey's shorts, they have Steve's shield pattern on them
Steve and Tony are getting ready to meet up with Rhodey and Bucky. Steve is definitely going to wear pants though lol.

Steve was never expecting to get along with James. He didn't have the best start with Tony - even though he likes to believe that they've moved past that and have become good friends - and James' protective streak was well known. After all, the man broke records trying to fly back to New York fast enough and managed to show up just as the Hulk picked up Tony from the sky.
He still remembers the way James landed around them with a thud, his faceplate snapping up and shoving all of them to the side so that he could get to Tony. He remembers the way Tony's face softened; the way James reached out with one metal encased hand to awkwardly rub his hair before settling on his shoulder.
He remembers fiercely missing the time in his life when someone looked at him like that, like he was the reason the world continued turning.
In retrospect, Steve honestly should've seen this whole thing coming, but he's still blindsided by the whole thing.
oh another one for Rhodey/Steve have been thinking of. the conversation that would take place between Tony and Rhodey once he breaks the news that him and Captain America are officially dating!!
A continuation of the same verse with Steve Rhodey found here! ~~~It was going too well, which probably should have tipped him off.
Tony Stark was curious. He'd learned that decades ago. He liked to know everything about people, personal or not. Not that he'd be invasive, but he was alarmingly good at getting crucial information out of people with seemingly innocuous small talk.
Once he knew, however...
"JAMES RUPERT RHODES," The door slammed open and whatever Tony said, he did not give a high pitched yelp when he yanked the shower curtain forward.
"Tones, what the hell are you doing?" Rhodey said, sticking his head out and glaring. "I am in the shower!"
"You-" Tony said, pointing at him accusingly. "Are dating Steve Rogers."
There is a pause.
"I will be out in five minutes," Rhodey said, pointing to the door.
"Two," Tony said angrily, then stomped out.
By the time he walks back out to his room, Tony is sitting on the couch, fiddling with his watch and staring accusingly at Rhodey.
"Here I am, completely unprepared for treason," Tony began dramatically. "Having a nice conversation, when I learn that you are dating Steven Grant Rogers and didn't inform me of this."
"I was going to tell you when, you know, I was in the same country?" Rhodey said dryly.
"I," Tony said with great affront. "Had to learn about my now ex-best friend's relationship from Samuel."
"We're ex-best friends now?" Rhodey said, feeling amused despite everything. Tony wasn't really mad, but he was a horrid gossip queen. He would need a picture of Tony's face when he found out from Sam though.
"Yes," Tony said, flopping face down on the couch. "Life is meaningless and I have decided to forsake friendship."
"You gonna break up with Bucky then?" Rhodey said, nudging him till he wriggled away enough for him to sit down.
"What, you get a super soldier and I don't?" Tony said, turning over to stare at him. "How'd it happen?"
"We just...talked a lot at first." Rhodey said, "Sharing stories. Just didn't stop when I came back here."
"It's serious?" Tony said quietly, tilting his head towards Rhodey.
"I think so," Rhodey said, equally quiet. "I really do like him. I was just..."
"Shy?" Tony said, half sympathetic, half mischievous. "Aww sugarplum, you're a catch. Anyone sane would see that. I'm happy for you. And also for the opportunity to fly in here looking all mad and freaking out your supervisor. I guarantee he won't disturb us for a couple of hours, so tell me about him."
"You know Steve," Rhodey said, raising an eyebrow.
"Professionally," Tony said dismissively. "I wanna know how you feel about him."
"Well...there is something I was planning to ask you."
"Hmm?"
"We should annul that Vegas wedding."
"Good idea honey bear."
It was weekly game night at the Avengers Tower. Typically, the night would be filled with laughter from Thor, bickering between Clint and Tony as Bucky played mediator, Natasha and Pepper cuddling on the couch, and Sam and Sharon tossing popcorn into each other’s mouths. But tonight, most of the team was out. Thor was in Asgard, Clint and Natasha were off on a mission, Pepper was overseas for SI, Sam and Sharon went to go visit Sam’s family, and Bucky and Tony… well Rhodey had no idea where the two of them went off, but he had a few guesses. (Rhodey was pretty sure that Bucky and Tony decided to either have some impromptu romp in the penthouse, went on a date, or took Harley and Peter out to do an escape room.)
So, that only left Rhodey and Steve; which Rhodey wasn’t really upset about, considering that the two of them were dating and none of the others knew about it yet.
(Despite the fact that Rhodey and Steve had been dating for almost a year, they enjoyed the privacy they had. They meant to tell the team a few months into their relationship, they really did, but things kept popping up—Avengers calls, paperwork that Fury or Maria insisted be done right away, and emergency meetings—before they words fell out. After about the tenth or fifteenth time (Rhodey and Steve lost track after the fifth try to be honest), they decided they would stop trying to tell them.)
The two men were sitting on the couch as they played Mario Kart. Steve was currently in first place with Rhodey not that far behind. Rhodey smirked when saw that he had gotten a blue shell.
“Oh, Steve,” he teased.
Steve’s eyes widen when he saw what Rhodey had. “Babe, don’t you fucking dar—How rude!” he exclaimed as the blue shell hit him.
“Get wrecked dweeb,” Rhodey cackled.
“I thought you loved me!”
Rhodey snorts at Steve’s words. “Relationships don’t exist when it comes to Mario Kart, honey.”
“RELATIONSHIP?! HONEY?!” Tony screamed as he and Bucky entered the communal floor.
Steve and Rhodey jumped at the screech. They looked at Tony and Bucky—who both looked surprised (and confused in Bucky’s case)—before looking at each other and then back to Tony and Bucky.
“Uhh,” Steve said intelligently.
“Surprise,” Rhodey hesitantly said, giving Tony a sheepish grin.

This is a fill for my M2 - “I thought you loved me” square for @warmachinebingo
“Steve would totally get jello legs if he ever met Wonder Woman!”
