Hello. Good da. Top o' the morning to ye.
#8 😈
Feel like it should be noted that you submitted that at 2:11pm my time, so that's 5:11pm your time. Definitely not 'top o the morning' for either of us. Anyways. Here's your story.
Eddie gapes as he takes in the beast before him. Golden fur with flecks of copper throughout catch in the sunlight. There's a darker patch over one eye, mirroring a similar pattern, and those silvery-blue eyes are ones Eddie could pick out no matter the slight change in hue.
The wolf folds its ears back, crouching it's body into a position of submission and fear, a low whine coming from the base of its throat.
"Hey, hey," Eddie keeps his voice soft as he lowers down into the dirt and grass, the dampness soaking into the knees of his jeans. He doesn't care though. He reaches a tentative hand out. "You're okay, I promise."
The wolf looks at him, tentative and cautious, inching forward until a wet nose presses to the tip of Eddie's fingers.
"There you go, Buck." Eddie murmurs as the wolf inches closer, the soft fur felt under Eddie's touch. "I'm not gonna hurt you. I'd never hurt you."
Another whine and then Eddie is being pushed back onto his ass as the wolf nuzzles into his neck, tail wagging happily behind it's body.
Eddie laughs and wraps his arms around the golden wolf, squeezing and petting at wherever he can reach.
"Look at you," Eddie murmurs, admiring the stunning coat of his best friend. "You're beautiful."
Ever Buck, the wolf ducks his head like he's bashful. Eddie grins and leans forward, planting a smacking kiss on the top of his head.
“Were you ever going to tell me?” Eddie asks, tone light and casual, but the question as Buck shuffling away and cowering down onto the ground, covering his muzzle with his paws. "Hey, woah, Buck..."
A pitiful sounding whine comes from the wolf, too big to make itself small, although Eddie knows Buck would find a way to try. He has a habit of doing that.
"I'm not upset, Buck." Eddie settles with his legs crossed. "I'm just asking."
Buck doesn't look at him. Keeps himself hidden away, tail curved into his body.
"I'm...well, I'm relieved." That gets a silvery-blue eye peeking out. "Because you aren't alone, Buck." A huff of disbelief escapes between the two paws still resting over his nose. "You aren't." Eddie insists, fiddling with the hem of his shirt. "And I can't be mad about you keeping this a secret, when I've been doing the same thing."
That gets Buck's full attention. He sits up, cocking his head to the side, looking far too adorable for what is commonly considered a dangerous beast.
Eddie smiles and tugs his shirt off, "You didn't think it was weird I didn't question why you were stripping in front of me?"
If it were possible, Eddie thinks the wolf would be blushing right now. It'd be adorable. Buck always is.
Eddie stands and works open the button of his jeans. "I get it. You don't want to ruin your clothes. Especially..." He pauses, gesturing to the forest Buck had driven the two of them out to under the pretense of a hike.
Maybe they can still go for a hike, or more like a run, together.
"Warning," Eddie echoes Buck's previous words with a smirk, hands on the waistband of his jeans and underwear, "If you don't want to see me naked, close your eyes."
Buck stares right at Eddie, much like Eddie had done to Buck when their positions had been reversed but they'd both still been human. Eddie feels a thrill go down his back as he shoves the clothing down, kicking them and his shoes off.
He hadn't been imagining this...thing between him and Buck then. Maybe that was what distracted Eddie from the fact that his best friend can also shift into a wolf. Because not once did Eddie ever suspect it. All he knows is he's always felt this connection, this draw towards Buck.
Now he knows why.
Rolling his shoulders, Eddie takes a breath, and then he shifts.
Shaking out his reformed body and the fur now covering it, Eddie stretches back on his front legs, tilting his nose to the air, quickly adapting to the increased senses.
Then he straightens up and looks at Buck. The golden wolf is grinning, tongue lolling out of the side. The silvery-blue eyes are alive with excitement.
Eddie gives a small woof that Buck echoes and then Buck is all over Eddie, sniffing and marking him. Eddie feels another shiver run down his spine. He likes, loves, knowing that he'll smell of Buck. And Eddie wastes no time in doing the same to Buck, rumbling in appreciation and praise when the wolf - just ever so slightly smaller than his own - stays still and bows his head, once again submitting to Eddie.
Content with the scenting of each other, Eddie steps back, bopping his nose against Buck's. A sort of kiss that should definitely be shared first as a human but feels easier in their wolf form.
Buck releases a giddy yip, pushing off of his front paws into the air briefly. His entire body is practically vibrating with energy.
Eddie nods towards the tree line, cocking his head in question. Buck gives another bark and angles his body, waiting for Eddie.
Grinning in his own wolfy way, Eddie pushes off, running into the forest, knowing that Buck is quick on his heels.
Things have changed but definitely for the better.
