I wrote this caption this early morning... And then my IG decided it wasn't awake enough... And didn't post. I apologise for the delay. . Final day of #YogisMoonFlow! 🌒🌓🌔🌕🌖🌗🌘 We have #newmoon again today. Yogi's choice, to me, is always mighty #wildthingpose! 👉🏻 What did the moon do FOR you? . We talked about what the moon could do to you, but we never told you the moon can help you in more subtle ways. For example, for my #archeoastronomy exam for University, we found out that #angkorwat temple had more connections to the moon than any other stars, and this discovery was worth the highest grade! #giftfromthemoon . 🌙 Magic hosts: @ritaayoga @yogiinthecity_ @sarahuactive @norayogini . 🌙 Magic sponsors: @yogo @vayumudra @lilaintheskyjewelry @vibratehigherofficial . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Just some beach flow foolery cause we sometimes need it. Do you know this feeling to spin around yourself until you get totally dizzy but you just keep doing it until using balance? I used to do it when I was little and didn’t change xd (watch the end). Besides foolery, there also is a sence to this flow. It’s my fav opener pose. It opens up chest, lung, and shoulder areas. Also, opens the front of the legs and hip flexors and builds strength in shoulders + upper back ✨ 💛 #wildthingpose #foolery #yoga #wildthingpose #somefuninthesun (at Honolulu, Hawaii)
I very rarely practice in actual "yoga clothes"- kinda wild considering I've spent most of my life in a state of fear/panic over my naked body. I still get shy when I'm naked in front of mirrors- I tend to hold my body at random "model pose" angles so I don't have to look at it full-on. It's a terrible habit but it's a telltale symptom of my body shaming addiction. I'm especially judgmental of my breasts. They've always been saggy and I've battled shame over them since forever. I mean, the media always makes tits look so pert and shit. But what if something happens to mine one day. I mean, the odds seem to be pretty fucking high that something could definitely happen to them and/or the rest of my physical body. And I'm not getting any younger- what if these are the glory days with my breasts? I like to think that my tits and I will be together until I say so but bitch, please- I ain't in charge of that. The odds might not be in my favor. So I'm going to love these droopy sacks as much as I can right now, do my best to check 'em regularly and try to stop thinking shitty thoughts bc good grief- life is short and I don't need to waste mine by hating a body that's more than a gift to me. Practicing mostly naked in my granny panties on the balcony of my Maryland hotel room after last week's dope @towsoncsd event. The sun doesn't give a fuck whether or not the photo is washed out and neither do I. At this point, my practice is a prayer and I am praying for all of us. If you are suffering and in need, please know that I am sending my prayer to you. #wildthingpose
When practicing Wild Thing or Camatkarasana some people suffer from lower back pain. Usually this happens because the space on the shoulders and hips have not been created so all the effort is taken by the lower back. Some actions that can help to create space on hips and shoulders and also to protect the lower back are: - starting from wild dog, from the moment you start to flip the weight from one leg to the other, start to press the foot that is on the floor to lift the thighs and hips up, and keep that leg which foot is on the floor as straight as possible. This action will transfer the weight of the body to the hand so the shoulder has to create space - for creating space on the shoulder move the shoulder blade of the hand that is on the floor, into the body, so it means that the bottom corner of the shoulder blade moves down-towards the hips and in-towards the inner body (as if you want to touch the lungs with the lower corner of the shoulder blade). This action starts by pressing the hand to the floor and with that action, pulling the shoulder-blades away from the floor - once the other foot reaches the floor, keep the knee of that leg bent and closer to the hand that is on the floor compared to the other foot - focus your mind on pressing even more the floor with the feet to lift more the thighs and hips, but specifically press more with the inner heel of the extended leg so you can transfer the weight from the extended leg to the bent leg, and slightly from the legs towards the arms - if you relax the belly towards the spine (without contracting the muscles) then there will be even more space to lift the hip bones up. And when in the pose breath with the rib-cage and not with the belly so you don't press the lower back. Remember the most important once you bring all the actions to the body, is to bring the awareness to the mind and allow yourself to observe your reactions. Observe your breath, it will tell you more that the pose itself. #camatkarasana #wildthing #wildthingpose #asana #yogaasana #yogatips #yogaalignments #practicekindness #yogaisequanimity #luanafarayoga (at Mýkonos, Kikladhes, Greece)
"Every experience you have ever had has been shaped by your mind. Every relationship is as good or as bad as it is because of the minds involved. If you are perpetually angry, depressed, confused, and unloving, or your attention is elsewhere, it won’t matter how successful you become or who is in your life—you won’t enjoy any of it." ~ Sam Harris from Waking Up: a Guide to Spirituality Without Religion Make up your mind and join us at the Sedona Yoga Festival March 9-12! - It's only a few weeks away !!
