Shadows
Shadows dancing in the soul
Darkness covers what one can’t know
Opposing truths that taste of lies
Is a zebra black or white?
A sacred love, a gentle hymn
And wild lava flows from sin
Desire calls to dance in pairs
While stillness beckons an empty chair
Shadows holding broken pieces
Dripping blood the heart releases
Somber in the dead of night
Shadows steal in dreams till light

Something Wicked This Way Comes
Fandom: Supergirl, Shazam, The Flash, Zatanna, Teen Titans
Characters: Alexa Luthor Danvers, Liza Luthor Danvers, Zatanna, Billy Batson, Damien Wayne, Jon Kent, Nora West Allen
Summary: The Superkids are participating in a decathlon, but unusual series of events start to happen. This is a part of the 1k word challenge. I got the word smoke. This is in the same world as my series My Everything. Alexa, Liza, Billy, and Zatanna are a couple of years older. You can read this independently of the series. Not sure if I will keep this as a one shot or continue. If you want to see more, let me know!

Chapter: 1/?
Billy Batson looked at his gym outfit and cringed. Every year he got roped into doing the school’s decathlon. Everyone from 6-8th grade had to do a variety of physical activities for several hours. Then their results get posted in front of their entire class. It sucked because as Billy, he was at the tail end of the pack in regards to fitness. But as Shazam. He could wipe the floor with everyone. What made it worse this year is that they invited other schools across the country to participate: Gotham Academy and Kansas City Middle School. There was only two highlights. One is that this is the last one that he had to do before entering high school next year. The second highlight (which was the best in his opinion) is that he would get to hang out with two people that he admired: Jon Kent and Damien Wayne. They were in the Teen Titans and in the same grade as he is. Jon was cooler and calmer then this dad. Damien was the opposite. He had excellent knowledge and combat skills, but tended to be on the impulsive side. He has been able to meet them as Shazam since the League assigned him as a team lead for the Titans, but they didn’t want to hang out with him much because they perceived him as being an adult that was judging their performance. However, today was the day to change all that. His only problem is that they didn’t know who he was.
Billy sighed while walking outside. Most of the students were either just standing around or just stretching. He scanned the school yard to see if he could spot anyone he knew. He smiled brightly when he spotted Damien and Jon huddled together across the yard. As he approached, he started to slow down as he saw the two in a middle of an argument.
“I’m telling you Jon, we should just leave. No one would noticed” said Damien.
Jon sighed and said, “You really want to start trouble right after getting off the plane.”
“It is not like anyone would noticed that we are gone. We don’t have anything to prove. I can wipe the floor with these simpletons any day.”
“People would noticed that we are gone dumb ass. Remember Alexa and Liza saw us earlier.”
“Do you really think your cousins would rat us out?”
“Lena is picking them up,” muttered Jon.
Damien’s face fell and said solemnly, “The human lie detector.”
For the everyday word challenge: comforting/comfortable 👀
okay this was a fun one!! i went for a mix of both? idk how well it turned out though 😭
it's cold outside. i have a nightly routine- i can barely make myself do it, and i rush through it anyways because it is cold, cold, and my bed is warm with the blanket my father bought me when i was eight. i tie my hair back and pull on my socks. you should always cover up your toes, i remember my mother saying. i climb into my bed- it's still cold but i curl under the soft blanket- it is the softest thing i have ever touched. the fairy lights in my room are- almost twinkling at me, winking and blinking and making my eyelids heavy. i inhale- and i can smell the scent of the candle a friend gifted me for my birthday. it has just burnt out. i close my eyes, and turn off the fairy lights. the lights remain pressed into the backs of my eyelids, and they smile at me.
i smile back. my toes are no longer freezing.
sunflower and spike 🤭
A/N: spike x reader. mention of character death s7. Tiny hint of grief.
Sunflower:
Sunflower. That’s what he called you. His sunflower. Told you it was because you were the closest he would ever get to the sun. That you were the light he had always been missing.
God, he adored you. Wanted the best for you not that he said it as often as he wished he had. He worshipped the very ground you walked on and would never hear of a single word said against you. Less the speaker wanted to be six feet under before dawn broke, that is.
He never wanted to see you down, did damn-near everything in his power to make sure you felt happy with him. Protected. Safe. He would bring you a sunflower, every anniversary without fail. No matter if you had been arguing or agreed there was too many monsters to allow yourselves to take a break and celebrate. There it would be. A single sunflower waiting for you.
You were good together. So very strong together. So much so the powers, in their jealousy, had ripped you apart. After the battle of Sunnydale, your sunflower wilted. The last he had ever given you. Your champion was gone, torn from your side. Your happiness and your hope gone with him.
You loved him for what he had done. You were so proud of him but the loss was unbearable. Your own life was swallowed in that crater too, never to be the same again. Until one day. The day that should have been your anniversary. The first after he had sacrificed himself for the world.
You stepped into the living space you had been sharing with the others since you left Sunnydale. It was just gone noon when you finally rose after hiding from the day for as long as you could bear.
You saw it in the corner of your eye first, something you were sure you had conjured up in the false hope of your periphery. But when you turned to look, colour seemed to filter back into the world again. You saw it.
A sunflower.
