I recently had unexpected minor foot surgery so couldn’t tread on my wounded foot let alone bike or swim for a few weeks. This looked like a vacation from my workout routine. The inactivity was nearly maddening. Who would have thought I’d miss it so much, that it had become such a big part of my routine?
To get past this, I partially filled two gallon jugs with water to use as hand weights to at least sit and work my arms, shoulders, and stomach muscles. This worked for me as a stop gap for the time being but was not a replacement for my regular biking and swimming.
My point is to keep up the good work, whatever work out you do. If circumstances arise where you can’t do your regular workout, figure out something else to do - some other way to work your muscles and use up blood sugars. Anybody remember isometrics?
When I’m not marking the days on my calendar until I can get back in the water, I’m sewing beer themed aprons for my online shop - www.etsy.com/shop/topdrawerthreads . Or I’m busily crocheting striped scarves from upcycled yarn for my other shop - www.etsy.com/shop/topdraweryarns .
My daughter’s have an online shop - www.etsy.com/shop/yesdesigns - where they hand make and sell stretch velvet leggings in sizes 2X to x small.
My older daughter has an online shop - www.etsy.com/shop/wildwovenwomen - where she knits upcycled yarns into brightly colored striped afghans.
