Likely Impact on Other Nations on the Happenings in Afghanistan!
As the Talibans are on a march to capture power and Afghanistan’s forces as well as the war lords are helpless spectators having faced a string of failures and are unable to put up a viable resistance, the situation is becoming alarming day by day. It raises many questions, not only for the future of Afghanistan. I am trying to express, what I am feeling, but there will be many more view points, either divergent or supplemental to what I jot down in the following paras:
The first point which distributed me the most, is the opportunistic and self-centred behaviour of USA, by abruptly deciding to move out of Afghanistan, leaving people of a war razed nation in a lurch, after controlling their fortunes for two decades, projecting itself as a Monitor and the Guardian of the world and that too after using their soil for its own agenda, including countering Russia, without realising the consequences for its misadventures. Whatever harshest words, one may choose, will surely, fall short, to express condemnation of US action of deserting Afghanistan, after plunging that nation to the present turmoil and unprecedented crisis. (I am intentionally addressing US with the neutral expression “it” instead of using ‘Masculine’ as according to me that society can no more be described that way, and using ‘Feminine’ expression will be the insult of ‘Femininity’ an expression akin the selflessness, love, affection and care for others)
The second point of concern is regarding the uncertainty looming large on the fate or future of any civilian government or any democratically elected government worldwide, owing to the present ongoings in Afghanistan where a national government is under extreme threat of being toppled and power control over that country under threat of being snatched by terrorist or extremist groups, syndicates, mafia or goon clubs.
If this is allowed to happen in Afghanistan, then, in the days to come, there is no guarantee of safety of any elected national government world over. This toppling will only encourage, the gun tottering, trigger happy anti-social elements, to indulge in such offensives, to snatch power, anytime and anywhere in the world. Unfortunately, the chances of such types of incidents shall more likely be happening in the near future, the world over, owing to the myopic outlook, the narrow selfish interests and thus accordingly, the set agendas of the world powers. Earlier governments’ overthrowing and power takeover actions used to be by the military juntas now it’s by militant juntas.
Two decades ago, US wanted to counter and humiliate Russia, so they encouraged and helped, the anti establishment groups, both financially and with supplies of weaponry. Now it’s China, to fulfil their selfish agenda, they are openly supporting and using the terrorist Taliban groups, as their tools, against present government and the United States. The ultimate sufferers are common masses.
Writing is clear on the wall, but the world powers are either sitting silent or have turned a blind eye, in order to safeguard their national interests, without realising that, if they don’t unite and stand up now, then, the time is not far, for the same happenings to repeat, in their own backyards. If they think that this can’t happen in their own countries, they are then living in a fool’s paradise.
