Something special about him
There are plenty of boys I have imaged a loving family with, but I don't even want kids.
Pictured a luxurious marriage ceremony with too many, yet I am destined to not settle,
And with him... it's different.
I've pictured nothing, but surprises remark special moments.
He remembers the little things without any emphasis.
Recalls what he knows is bothering my soul;
He is big for the respect on women;
A sucker for the beauty of everything;
I roll my eyes until he tells me he loves me.
The only man I've met
Too childish, but loyal.
Putting our love first before anything,
I just wish he knew himself before becoming another one.
He's unique;
the kind that does not come around again, but eventually does because he takes in nothing.
Too precious and weak, but I continue to want to love you.
I like what cannot be me;
I am too much.

Spent the afternoon setting up my Ikea Skadis at the desk, cleaning the desk and putting my drawing stuff there. Step one of creating my writing / creativity corner. Now some decorative stuff is next #drawing #writer #personal space #writingcorner #desksetup https://www.instagram.com/p/B9RzgNRK2IF/?igshid=1sbvks443n4i4
I added a funny little lamp to my writing corner. I change the color depending on my mood. #writingcorner #writingdesk https://www.instagram.com/p/B6te8LDgrYo/?igshid=14i5oh4ccrr04
Tropes I’m Tired of No. 1
the protagonist acts like a jerk to the best friend, creating conflict between them, by the end, the protagonist learns their lesson and they become friends again.
I hate this because I feel like the protagonist is always easily forgiven by the friend. Sure, people are deserving for forgiveness, but they should face some consequences for their actions. Give me a story where the best friend isn’t too eager to let them off the hook. Let the audience know that it’s going to be a little testy in the friendship for a while. Trust takes time to build and even longer to build back up.
5 Things I’ve Learned Writing my First Novel
I’ve been wanting to write my first book for a very long time, and when I stepped into 2019, I decided to go for it. It was honestly such a great journey for me and I feel like writing is the thing I needed to do for a long time. While I know that nothing I right is perfect, and there’s still a long way to go before my novel is ready for anything other than sitting on my desk, I’d thought I’d make a list of all the things that I’ve learned about myself and my writing process while writing my first novel.
1. It’s okay not to write everyday.
I wanted to have a set schedule and hit a certain word count everytime I sat down to write, but, as I’m constantly being reminded by friends, mental health is important. It’s okay if you don’t have the mental capacity to write everyday. It’s okay to take a break. Sometimes, you can even come back to your work better than before.
2. My book is my baby, but that doesn’t mean show everyone the photos all the time.
I was really proud, and really excited, of what I had accomplished. Writing a book is not easy, but I was glad I had done it. Still, that didn’t mean everyone would have the same amount of enthusiasm. My truest and bestest friends, of course, congragulated me, but others just politely nodded and smiled. It’s really hard not to let those kinds of reactions get you down, especially when you have a dream of publishing, but it makes even more thankful for the people who did support me.
3. You don’t have to outline everything.
I had ideas going in of where I wanted to go with the book, of course, but I found that the greatest parts of my book were the ones that evolved in the middle of when I was writing a scene. I was surprised to go to places I didn’t originally planned to, and they helped by develop my story and characters overall. I’ve found it’s definetly better for me to go in with a general plan and let the rest grow from there.
4. Make your characters relateable to your readers... and to you.
I struggled trying to write my characters, until I started putting little pieces of myself into them. Pulling apart the way I act and my personailtiy wasn’t easy, and it was almost painful, but my novel was better for it. I’m not saying I made my characters carbon copies of myself, but I did give Florence my anxiety, Kevin my humor, and Mia my optimism. It helped me to understand each of them more and more, and once I had those little foundations it was easy to built them into their only fully fleshed, individual selves.
5. Have hope.
Just like a mother raising her child (akward metaphor, but I probably won’t stop using it) I’m excited to see my novel go from newborn first draft to gradutated final draft. There’s a lot of steps to take in between then and now, but I want to take those steps. Believe as hard as you can that writing is something you can do. Write more to get better. You’re building something from the ground up, and that takes time. So, take the time to do it right, and don’t stop.
My little #writingcorner is not sophisticated (or even particularly organized), but I love it. I don't work at a desk (though I have/use a couple of lap desks). I just curl up in my chair and write my letters! Where do you create? (at The Rock Camp Store)
