I am quite fond of the Quinoth..
Tolowiila, my Spectrum Jelly oc.
"I mean, that's all what this is about, and you could break down all human artforms to be rooted this way."
Delphi said. Fae continued,
"You Affini evolved and stuck with inherited markers of eyes that can see varying wavelengths of light from very early-on, probably given so many xenosophont species convergently evolved light receptors of some sort, so even the earliest Affini to domesticate had best-benefited from interpreting through the same form of sensory organ as so many sophonts. That's why you have eyes, and you interpreting and learning of and to do human art is exactly what you gained those eyes for!"
Versa Solidago, Third Bloom, He/Him sat, he fiddled with the thin bristles that mimicked a terran mustache. He never-yet had taken-in a floret, and here was Delphi, a wholly independent sophont, a casual yet dear friend of his, cutely dorking over faer (correct) suspicions of Affini evolution; on an anecdote from his own question over human art.
To Versa he just never clicked with the most common two processes of taking-on a Terran floret; (relatively) slowly domesticating a feralist, or a desperately submissive and willing Terran. And here he was, in this oh-so usual friendship with an independent Terran- and it made his core shiver with delight.
Agonizingly-long months passed. Versa was sitting before Delphi again, as fae grinned in relief, this cutie's hands wrapped around his grafted Class A flower, as it delicately returned to deeper in his vines, a spare appendage of his lifting the bandaid Delphi left on faer thigh, ready for Delphi to apply on faerself. Delphi looked-up to Versa, an appreciative smile.
"That's helpful stuff." fae said as the bandaid went over where his flower's thorn pricked. "I mean, you're an Affini, so I'd strongly assume you wouldn't mind, but because the convention of speech in English goes this way: would you mind if we snuggle? Please? ... Kinda what the Class A is half-for..."
To Versa, Delphi's phrase came out of nowhere, but by the Everbloom was it welcomed. The tinge in faer tone as fae asked to snuggle, the way fae said please... it all rocked Versa...
Versa didn't even utter a word, just a happy, "Eep!" as he knelt down, embraced Delphi, and stood back up. Delphi whimpered happily, the cutie fae are, as Versa led Delphi to the bed, lying down and wrapping a vine around each of Delphi's thighs. Holding fae in place. Meanwhile, Versa's human-form arms embraced Delphi, the cilia on his chest raised to make him more fuzzy, and he redistributed the heat of his core toward where Delphi lay atop him. Meanwhile, fae simply whimpered in happiness, engulfed in an Affini for the first time, and off an impulse.
Delphi nuzzled into Versa a series of times, before happy-sighing and speaking up, "Versa??" Versa's eyes opened, looking down restfully at Delphi, "Yes- c-cutie?" Delphi blushed, giggling for a moment, whispering, "He called me cutie, again hehe..." to faerself. Delphi got back to their point, "Versa, will you make me your Floret??"
Finally finished a sphynx life cycle chart, as written by Nepeta Cataria in the early days of her adoption of Pillbug🌸🐾
