Crawling out of my hole to remind people that with this current update to Firefox (version 144) they've gone and dumped in their lot with a buncha lil AI tools, namely Perplexity as a new search engine.

So if the sound of that leaves your mouth tasting of tar, here's what you want to do:

In the url bar, type in about:config

It'll give you a big scary warning page that you might poke holes in your browser. Good. You want to do that. Click continue.

One by one, you're going to need to put each of these into the search bar in the page, not up top:

browser.ml.enable browser.ml.chat.enabled extensions.ml.enabled browser.ml.linkPreview.enabled browser.tabs.groups.smart.enabled browser.tabs.groups.smart.userEnabled

Each of these are gonna have a lil toggle icon on the right hand side that looks like a funky double-ended arrow. Click that and the value next to it should change to false. It all auto saves as you go. Some of these might already be set to false by default and that's peachy.

The next best thing you can do for yourself is to set your default search engine to udm14 or Qwant, but for now, we're just tidying the garden a lil bit.

I can finally share my piece for Broads And Broadswords vol 2! (@broadsandbroadswords) A wonderful zine that, this year alone, managed to donate over 6500 USD to the Transgender Law Center.

I decided to do a take on a sword in the stone type of story.

She was fated to claim an enchanted sword and, upon doing so, was crowned queen. And heavy is that crown; she has seen much horror and loss, some of it by her own hand. So she pleads for the stone to take back the sword and its burden. (Okay, maybe less plead and more she tried to violently ram it back in place with sheer anger and anguish) But fate is a cold uncaring beast.

So finally watched the new old guard movie!!!

Sorta spoiler under the cut:

WAS ANYONE GOING TO TELL ME THE MOVIE ENDS IN A MOTHERFUCKING CLIFFHANGER!!?!?!?!?!?!?!? HFEHDHGDHFVDJDH

Anyway, i'm gonna be a hater for a minute cause there were two major things that bothered me:

1. New immortals coming out of the woodwork bothered me badly, cause the first movie put a lot of emphasis on the dreams that lead the immortals to one another.

So how come none of them ever dreamt of discord, or tua? It's just ugh pissed me off for some reason.

2. The nile can take away immortality by injuring them.

Are you telling me that nile never trained with nicky and joe? They were together for months since the first movie.

All told i enjoyed the movie well enough, though something about the pacing was off, i feel like maybe i came in with too high expectations.

It didn't quite capture the magic of the old movie in my opinion which doesn't mean i'm not going to obsses over it for the next little while XP
