I got a tumblr, it really was quite great
I blog about a lot of things, but mostly what I ate.
I thought it was a sweet gig, it really was quite cushy.
Then they went and banned me, ‘cause all I ate was pussy.
I signed up on tumblr, I didn’t know what to expect.
I thought I could just post and not worry about being fact checked
But once my posts went viral, no one saw my genius
Now all they do is reblog and say “kung pow penis.”
I’m a YA book author, I have a tumblr too
I post a lot of info, for my tumblypoos
But then one day my time was up, I read it on the clock
And now my most famous post is about how I love cock
i made a tumblr, and it didnt go great
whenever i make a post, all i get is hate
arguing with strangers, it really is a slog
i know all about politics, i run a hentai blog
One day I made a Tumblr, now I've been here ten years,
I've stayed through every update that left the userbase in tears,
And I don't regret a second, for here's the truth, you see:
I'm not locked in here with you, friend; you're locked in here with me.
We're Vox Machina, we fuck shit up.

I just think it’s really fucking funny how people will use their last dying breath to explain how it is possible that a Black, Latinx, or Native character with canonically typical ethnic features of dark skin or dark hair could have blonde hair or gold hair or green or blue eyes and all the hypotheticals of how they could have whiter features and how we should let fans interpret as they wish… but when it comes to advocating for darker skinned Asian representation people will instead use their last dying breath to explain how most people of that ethnicity are not dark skinned and have typical ethnic features of very fair skin and straight hair and and though it is possible to be darker they personally have never seen it in their experience and they have to shut it down because it just wouldn’t be accurate
i just think it’s really fucking funny that asians are always excluded from your activism and when you do decide to give asians one fraction of your day it’s for a shitty headcanon that’s racist anyway, and then you have to go and contradict canon + shit on something with a clear canon explanation while making a shitty post that’s stupid and not even plausible
not “i wish dark skinned east asians are represented” but “fuck light skinned east asians, frank and drew are now dark skinned”. and for what? for what? colorism is rampant in asia but that doesn’t mean light skinned east asians aren’t the majority.
besides, them being light skinned isn’t caused by them not being human or their godly heritage like piper’s shifting eyes and hazel’s amber eyes (which is a naturally occuring eye color). their skin color is influenced by their mortal side.
just know that you and all of your friends reblogging multiple forms of this dumb ass racist ass colorist ass take are so so wrong and you refuse to acknowledge the fact that while you are a person of color, you are apart of what society views as a model minority and you are also very fair skinned. you all are talking about how one white person is talking over you and taking up your space as an asian person in one breath, and in the other are taking up space to erase and invalidate your own darker skinned people and BIPOC. you are a person of color but you also are speaking from a place of privilege which you always need to remember.
you and others start these posts by maintaining that you know that colorism exists in asian communities and in general but then by the time I finish these posts I am honestly wondering if you even know what colorism… is? is colorism not prioritizing and centering and favoring light skinned people over dark skinned people? ???? did you not just say:
that head canoning asian characters as being dark skinned is “[a] shitty headcanon that’s racist anyway” (it’s racist to want to see dark skinned people representend?)
in response to head canoning asian characters as being dark skinned you said “for what?” as in there is no purpose to it and that is is not meaningful or signficiant or necessary for dark skinned people to be represented?
that if we head canon or represent asian characters as dark skinned that we are “”taking away”” light skinned representation for asian people. do you ever wonder why it’s not a common term for people to say light skinned representation? maybe because most characters on screen and on page, in magazines, in leadership, in government, and other places of visibility and power are .. light skinned? maybe because it already exists and that is our global societal default?? maybe because light skinned people of all races are much more likely to see themselves represented??? how can you take away something that is so pervasive???
and this line. “colorism is rampant in asia but that doesn’t mean light skinned east asians aren’t the majority.” “but “fuck light skinned east asians, frank and drew are now dark skinned.” like I’m floored ??????????????????????/??////// what tf are you talking about?? you literally just said oh yeah colorism is a big problem but that doesn’t mean light skinned asians shouldn’t be priotized (it’s the cognitive dissonance for me)
you and people who are buying this bullshit should really sit back and reflect on why instead of acknowledging that many asian people are light skinned, the colorism in asian communities and general society is rampant and directly affects mis- and under-representation of darker skinned asians and other BIPOC, and advocating for darker skinned people that share your culture to be represented; instead you decided to shit on someone saying that darker skinned representation is important. I have never said that light skinned asians aren’t a majority, and I am not saying BIPOC can’t have eurocentric features, and I’m not saying that anything is absolutely a set rule when it comes to BIPOC features. what I am speaking to is the effort to which you and others are resisting allowing BIPOC with dark skin and other marginalized ethnic features due to racism, colorism, and hair texturism, to get the representation that they desire and the deserve. the effort to which you want to shit on that and say it’s “not accurate” and say that it erases your own white skin is very telling.
what I’m reading is that you’re running scared as fuck of being invisibilized in the same way you invisibilize other BIPOC that don’t look like you (which would never even happen because you and other light skinned people will always, ALWAYS be a majority and oppress darker skinned people because of the historical forces at play), and you are afraid of being minoritized even if that means uplifting the many different representations of BIPOC. maybe you should worry about that instead of acting a racist fool in my mentions.
it would serve you to critically think about these issues and the positionality of your discourse, and how what you believe about race and colorism is directly impacted by your racial positioning, your own features, and your experiences, and make space for people that are disagreeing with you (rightfully so). it would serve you to engage in racial discourse for the purpose of listening and learning instead of being aggressive enough until someone is convinced that you’re right.
you can stay mad as fuck but if you are maintaining this take at this point you are fucking racist.
period.

there’s something to be said about eldest siblings in mdzs; the sacrifices they made so that their younger siblings had a fighting chance. it’s like they instinctively knew things were going to get bad, tried to stand in the way and shield their siblings when things finally did go to hell, and then sacrificed themselves body, spirit, or both as a last ditch effort of protection.
and it’s not just that they were older siblings either. they were the parental figures whether their own parents were there or not. they were the ones to pick up the pieces, to try and teach their younger siblings survival, to shield them from the darkness of their world for as long as possible, to give them some kind of affection and affirmation that they were not alone even if their parents weren’t there. little more than children themselves when they took on these roles, some times it didn’t always work out but they did it anyway. they tired. and if nothing else got through to the younger siblings, that motivation, that love helped them when looking after the juniors, hopefully saving them from a more traumatic fate that they and theirs experienced.
so pour one out for the eldest siblings - Wen Qing, Nie Mingjue, Jiang Yanli, and Lan Xichen. the best sisters and brothers to the bitter end.
to everyone asking if what they went through was ‘really’ trauma: it was. if you feel you were traumatised by it, then it was trauma. there’s nothing more to it than that
my therapist told me that trauma is any situation in which you felt helpless that has had a lasting impact on you. trauma doesn’t always feel “traumatic” at the time. you’re valid in your emotions even long after something has happened.
i saw this post and my immediate thought was keyleth and vex
[image description: two drawings, depicted as if screenshots, of Keyleth and Vex outside in the woods. The first drawing shows Keyleth, a thin half-elf with light brown skin and long, voluminous red hair. She’s wearing antlers on her head, a furry red shawl, and a light red tunic. She’s smiling and shrugging as she says, “Maybe the real treasure was the friends we made along the way.” The next drawing show Vex, a thin half-elf with long black hair in a braid over one shoulder. She’s wearing two blue feathers behind her ear, a blue fur-lined cape, and brown leather armor over a long-sleeve gray top. She has one hand on her hip and looks annoyed as she says, “No, I want my fucking gold.”]
Gamers during April quarantine: haha lovin this adorable game about living in an isolated haven with a handful of people I love and making a comfy little home :)
Gamers during September quarantine: fucking love this game about being trapped in a confined location and viciously murdering my friends while they complete meaningless, repetitive, arbitrary tasks to fill the time as a terrible feeling of dread slowly rises throughout space
not to be political on main but i think we should probably be making things easier for people
from the bottom of my heart: read real books
Define "real books"
not fanfiction
dante’s inferno and paradise lost are fanfics homie
no they are not. read real books.
dante’s inferno is a self insert theres nothing you can do about it
idk how to explain to you that an epic poem that pretty much created the entire concept of hell as we now understand it is not the same as larry stylinson mpreg on ao3 just bc it happens to include a self-insert character

How come kindness is never enough? How come we have to be reminded of hatred every time we want to support muslims or black people or trans women or natives? How come minorities have to be reminded of the people who want us dead when we're begging for help or minding our own business?
Can't it just be about genuine kindness for once?
