Depending on your perspective the end of the cycle is inevitable and happily anticipated, or it can feel like just one final piece is missing. Super excited to announce the first official gathering of #SacEnCircle, a dream of mine coming to reality! This is for those of you who feel drawn to connect to your spiritual selves, but don’t know where to start and think a sense of community will be a step in the right direction. Maybe you have concepts of God, but don’t feel at home in a church setting. Maybe you have learned some things about metaphysical practices and want to dive in or share with others. Maybe you just want to have a place to discuss your belonging in this world and what grounds you. 🌞 All are welcome! We’ve arrived at the eights in our #tarotstudy! Eights are a number of momentum or a tremendous buildup. Think of these as a final push towards the finish line within each suit’s theme. • 🌧 Cups (water-love&emotion) : a stacking of expectations or emotions are present in this card. The lesson is knowing when to walk away from this emotional build-up (they’re destined to topple over at some point when we arrange the cups this way, there is agency involved). • 🌬 Swords (air-thoughts&words) : This card indicates that we feel bound up in some way, particularly around our thoughts or communication. Maybe we’ve been walking on eggshells, or maybe we haven’t been honest with ourselves. The question this card presents is this: who is doing the binding? Where is your agency being diminished? • 🔥 Wands (fire-action&desire) : This is “all hands on deck!” As we can see, all eight rods are enacted here, indicating that we are using every resource at our disposal to execute a clearly desired goal. After overcoming hardships (earlier in the suit), we have gained laser focus. Where is it being directed? • 🌟 Pentacles (earth-materiality) : This is about honing and perfecting a skill, so much so that we get lost in it and forget to look back at our progress! There is a lot of build up as far as the time we’ve spent, the resources we’ve accrued, the knowledge we’ve gained, etc. The time may be near to step back and check in on all this hard work; are you proud of it? #TarotStudy meets us today with the lucky number 7! Seven in the tarot is a card of philosophy and reflection, giving the character in the suit the time and space to develop a more nuanced understanding of the world after coming out on the other side of a challenge (cards 5&6 preceding this). It can deal with reflecting on lessons we accept/reject, planning for the future, and meditating on the present. 🌊 Cups (water-emotions): daydreams abound, we are able to see a huge (possibly overwhelming) number of ideas we could invest our heart in. Too many options often makes it impossible to choose. - 🌬 Swords (air-thoughts&words): a sense of tip-toeing around, and of stealing/removing the threat of anything that can be used against you. There are a TON of ways to read into this card. Most of them are a little bitter. I’m sure you can see the whole suit of swords tends towards a cynical story if you’ve been following along. 🔥 Wands (fire-actions&desires): The hero reaches a make-or-break point where he’s decided there is something worth defending or standing up for. #tarotstudy continues with the number six! Following the pinnacle of the story, this number tends to correspond with a resolution after conflict, lack, or struggle. It’s more than restoring balance, it’s about coming out on the other side of a challenge with greater knowledge and more confidence. 🍷 Cups (water-emotions): emotional stability meets generosity and openness. This is a card of genuine feeling, expression, and presentation. Authenticity and transparency in emotions are key. ⚔️ Swords (air-words&thoughts): we are able to choose our own paths with an arsenal of knowledge (opinions alongside facts, beliefs and experience). We are equipped with language, and we take refuge in this—but be wary of putting too much stock in communication as a results-producer. Ah, the moon! The harbinger of Pisces season is this card. I wanted to include the dark side of the moon for the #TeaTimeTarot to represent our repressed or hidden selves. 🌙 The moon has always meant a fear of the unknown to me, and of some external theory where our locus of control relies on being able to see everything clearly illuminated; in crafting this card, it finally occurred to me that this unknown darkness could occur internally, too. 🌙 ♓️ As we swim through the waters of Pisces as a collective, astrology says we are in a heightened place of emotions, and apt to look for completion and filling of patterns. The moon suggests that we have access already to the missing pieces that we perceive as being far away, outside of our reach. It is a gentle reminder of the shadows within ourselves. Meeting the fives in our #tarot study means we are already halfway through! This is 20 cards of the tarot, already conquered. If you’re following along that deserves a high-five. Fives are the pinnacle of the story, a struggle, the climactic challenge that defines the hero and shapes our experiences following them. The naïveté of inexperience and innocence fall away and we gain a foothold in what it can be like to lose, break, or not have enough. As we’ve all experienced these defining moments, these cards become very important. We might avoid looking at these uncomfortable chapters, until a tarot card puts it right in front of our faces. Cups (water-emotions): a loss is felt in the heart. We dwell on hurts and disparaged expectations rather than what we still have in our possession to cherish . Swords (air-words&thoughts): we’ve entered a verbal foray (with ourselves or others). Maybe we feel like we’ve “won,” but at what cost? Aliénation ensues and we learn the hard lesson that you can’t always fix things by explaining them away . Wands (fire-actions&desires): is this playing or fighting in this image? While it’s hard to know until you’re in the middle of it, it’s plain to see there’s a lot of energy being spent. It takes an objective view to recognize that the end goal is ambiguous. Are we working towards something worthwhile, or just exhausting ourselves? ? Pentacles (earth-material world): the struggle of the material world is present in this card. It’s an image of not having enough and relying on the kindness of others through times of hardship. In some decks (according to the artist’s choice), it’s also a card of being skeptical and discerning of where help is coming from. ———————————————————— I hope you’ve been enjoying this tarot walk-through!
