no, it didn't give off heaven vibes. she was not sure where she would end up. be stuck somewhere she could not escape ❝ it doesn't ❞ avalyn agreed ❝ no. it is, weird things. you'd think someone would know more after all those years, unsure of if someone has been here for years ❞ might be someone who has been. how long had she been here again? right, two years soon ❝ nearly two years. yes, i have. not sure how i shall explain it all. its been monsters who should not exist, very wild things. i barely remember it all, it's been a lot, but has been very quiet lately. some people may say it isn't good, i think it is. for once we can live a somewhat normal life ❞
" yeah, everyone keeps saying this city's crazy, but i don't know, it hasn't been all that bad, " veronica admits with a shrug. everything she's heard so far is definitely enough to keep her on guard, but that's pretty much it for the time-being. " yeah, normal is definitely good. maybe even a little boring, but i'll take that over chaos any day, " she supposes. she's dealt with enough chaos, after all. " i guess i'm just ... confused. i mean, there's higher ups, aren't there ? people in power. i just don't know why we're all running around clueless. "
" vegetable rice. it's my favorite to eat too , " tilly answers. she's not sure if that's an established soup dish , but it's what she likes to make. rice is her favorite staple , so she loves to try it within different broths & mixed with various vegetables. " at least out of the ones that i make , " she amends after a second thought. she's tried many soups , but she sticks to only a handful in her own kitchen. " that's nice , " she says. she thinks that it would have been cool to grow up with a family restaurant in her life. " chicken is pretty good. it's smart to learn how to cook though. but i do miss having someone cook for me every day. "
" that sounds good, " cheong-san admits. honestly, if they keep talking about food, he fears he's going to get hungry again very soon, but at the same time, he can't seem to stop himself; it's a way to remember his parents. " yeah, it is, but i guess i was a little ... ungrateful. " admitting it hurts, but it's the truth - he foolishly never thought anything would ever happen to his parents - cushy life and caring parents, ripped from him so fast it gave him whiplash. " i regret it now. kinda wish someone would've called me out on my shit back then, i guess. but yeah, cooking for myself ? it's a mess every day. "
@tearstodust [Fiyero + You Pick!]
"I could stare at myself for hours." Fiyero sighed as he looked in the full-length mirror, smiling at himself. "I mean, why wouldn't I? This face must be looked at."
zoro faces the other incredulously, the tiniest hint of amusement hidden far behind stoic features. " i mean, if that's what you'd prefer to spend your time on, then sure, so be it, " he shrugs, arms crossed. he doesn't mind the confidence, but he does find it somewhat strange, honestly.
" Water , yeah ? I take it that you lived on the beach ? That's really nice . Although , it's not usually my favourite destination place . That's always been Paris . " While talking , Grace was aware that she got a dreamy kind of smile on her face . It was always going to be her second home . The place she ran to , when everything got bad . It was where her mom was . How could she not love it that much ? " Couple of months , too . Still catching up , so you are not the only one at all . "
" near the beach, yeah. walking distance to the beach, " jeremiah chuckles, making it obvious he's thinking back fondly of those summers. despite everything that had happened, his love for the ocean and water never changed. " paris sounds cool, though. " he can understand why everyone seems to want to go to paris, but he finds himself somewhat annoyed. not at the other, obviously. but he's grown up, he's not the same guy he was. " good to know i'm not the only one. i know it might sound dumb, but sometimes, it feels like everyone else has their lives on lock and i'm just out here vibing, you know ? "
"What can I say, I've dated quite a bit of both in my time in the field. I've also trained some hockey players on the ice, mostly children." Viktor admitted with a soft smile. "Well, most figure skaters are not as muscular as yourself; that's usually the hockey players. You give off a vibe of competition, that you like to win and yes, so do figure skaters, I've noticed hockey players can be a bit more intense. At least, that's my opinion from the one's I've known."
shane can feel his brain almost short circuiting for a brief moment when the other refers to him as muscular. that's not really a secret or anything - he's done his fair share of commercials specifically catered to showing off his muscles, after all, but for some reason, he's not expecting that. he nods, thinking about it for a second longer, " hm, i guess you've got a point. but yeah, i think everyone can get pretty competitive on the ice, whatever the reason. "
For some reason, she suddenly felt protective over her paper. She had a borderline feeling this man was judging her in some way, though she wasn't quite sure how. "It's going fine." She mumbled. "I'm sorry, do you go here?"
" go here ? " daniel parrots, looking around. " if you're asking if i attend school, no, thank fuck, but i was kind of under the impression that the public library is for the public, " he muses, gesturing his hand around briefly. " sorry if i'm freaking you out, though. wasn't my intention. "
"Good. I'll give you a chance." Bonnie responded. It seemed like he had his humanity on at this point, at least. That was a start. It was always trouble when he decided to turn it off. "If you really want to know, we were actually friends for a long time, with some ups and downs, but still good... then you turned your humanity off and killed my boyfriend."
stefan rolls his eyes internally, because part of him didn't want to know, but only asked because it was brought up. because he's still unsure if she's even telling the truth. as far as he's concerned, she's not, but he'll at least listen to what she's got to say. and yeah, that ? that does sound like him. though, it's not often he has his humanity off. being unpredictable because he wants fresh blood straight from the source is one thing, but that's another thing entirely. " yeah, doesn't ring a bell, " the vampire ultimately concludes. " sorry, " he adds with a sigh. part of him does feel bad, if she's telling the truth.
"Okay, I'll get the black denim jeans. And do you have any preference for dresses? One shoulder, off shoulder, halter neck, backless, long, cleavage" Sally asks.
" sun dresses are normally my go to, above the knee, nothing that's too short, " cassie says. fashion's never been her thing, but she's slowly but surely getting into it more. " but i'm willing to try anything you think might look decent. nothing that'll make me look ridiculous, please. "
"do you know me?" emily repeated, eyes wide as she let out a laugh of stunned disbelief. she'd heard of the memory issues, but witnessing it first hand from mike of all fucking people was an entirely different experience. "good to know you can at least guess you pissed me off." if he just jumped in by accusing her of being crazy emily would have probably completely lost it. "so what? zero recognition at all? not even a sense of it? i really just look like a total fucking stranger to you?" emily was smart, she knew it and prided herself in it, and she knew that whatever fucking head injury caused problems around here there wasn't going to be some magical sense of anything for a familiar face, that that just wasn't how memory loss worked, but she felt like she needed it confirmed, to really hear it before she did anything else.
yeah, mike's definitely pissed her off somehow, that much is evident, but he still can't seem to place her face from anywhere. she seems somewhat familiar, but - nope, nothing. " no. zero recognition. not even a sense, " he repeats, trying to make it clear he has no idea who she is. frankly, he's wishing she eventually just tells him to fuck off and call it a day, because as far as he's concerned, she's got the wrong guy. yes, she knows his name, but mike's a generic ass name. at least, that's what he's trying to tell himself. but something in the way she's talking and acting leaves him wondering if he literally just can't remember her. " look, i don't know you. if we met at a party or something, sorry, a couple of beers in and everything ends up being a fucking blur. "
mike didn't make a habit of getting to know too many people. he could see and recognize some faces , but hers was admittedly not one of them. some part of him felt a little guilty for not recognizing her , considering the fact that she appeared to know him by name. “ i am mike wheeler , ” he confirmed , nodding. he found himself even more perplexed by her stating they went to high school together. he couldn't recall seeing her in the hallway at any point. “ oh , really ? well , sorry i don't recognize you. i didn't know you went to high school here , too. what's your name ? ”
chrissy doesn't want to jump to conclusions or anything - it's not like they were considered the closest of friends or anything. they weren't even friends, really, but chrissy would think that at the very least, mike would recognize her. it's only when the other continues talking that chrissy becomes completely confused, because what did he mean he went to high school here ? she has a moment of wondering if she's the one starting to lose it. " chrissy cunningham, " she finally introduces herself, not too sure what else to say at the moment. she doesn't want to say anything wrong. " but it's totally fine. don't expect anyone to remember every single person they went to school with. "
"A leg prosthesis, look" Heiya says and showed him her flex floot cheetah on her left leg. "Gained this after my first game."
" oh. " arisu's gaze shifts down to the other's left leg, or rather, the lack of a leg, which he's sure he's noticed, but she walks on it so effortlessly. " i'm sorry about your leg, but i still don't know what games you're talking about. " he doesn't want to upset or annoy her, but he's confused.
"You mean as an agent? Yes. It's been a long ass time. I don't remember when but I was really young" Ada explains. "And you? What do you do?."
" oh. " emma doesn't expect that, but she'll take the vague response for what it is - she doesn't want to pry, after all. " i teach martial arts classes. mostly for younger kids to help teach them self defense. "
" Your ego is way off the roof , dude . May wanna bring it down a little . " Garrett attempted to tease , but he was grinning all the same . " I don't tend to do that . Even though , I sort of want to at times , given who you look like . " If someone had told him a long time ago that he would have enjoyed spending time with someone that looked like Justin Kohl , he wouldn't have believed them . Like ever . " Will you ?"
it's definitely not the first time five's heard that before, but it's not like he doesn't deserve to have a bit of an ego boost after everything that's happened, as far as he's concerned. surprisingly enough, though, he cares what garrett thinks about him, not that he would ever admit that. " oh ? who do i look like ? " five inquires curiously. lips pursed, he thinks about it for a brief moment, before shrugging. " i mean, yeah, i guess. the pressure's on you. "
"Wow. Well, I guess I can't really hold you to thinking magic is weird and nto real. If your not used to it, of course." marnie gave the other a soft smile and nodded. "i get that. well, now you have. I'm marnie." It was nice to meet someone who didn't know much about witches, but he seemed harmless enough for her to tell him the truth about her witch abilities. "i could prove it, if you'd like to see that?"
" definitely not used to it, " wilhelm admits, his distinct swedish accent seemingly more evident the more curious he gets. as far as he's concerned, up until about five minutes ago, he believed magic's simply something for the movies. " marnie. i'm wilhelm, " he introduces. " and yeah ? i mean, not that i don't believe you or anything - but i would very much like to see. "
"Now that you mentioned, this year nothing weird happened. But Halloween, oh Lord" Street says, shaking his head.
" halloween ? " sounds cliché, if he's being honest, but eddie's trying his best not to come off as judgmental too quickly. " what happened on halloween ? " he asks. he has a kid, after all, and he needs intel.
steve didn’t expect to hear malia say she believed him. whenever he told someone he is from around the 80s, they thought he was lying. maybe it was easier to tell people that now, because more came from the past ❝ you do? ❞ he asked, an eyebrow raised. good, he doesn't need to explain more then, hopefully. glad about it ❝ neither do i ❞ steve shrugged. it was much he doesn't understand ❝ or what did you mean? ❞ maybe he didn't understand right what malia said. wouldn't be the first time he misunderstood what someone said ❝ i am pretty boring and working almost half of the time ❞ he shrugged. being boring and saving the city, maybe.
" trust me, there's very few things i won't believe, " malia assures. she's seen and heard so much shit at this point, it wouldn't be wise to just not hear someone out at this point. if anything, she'd probably end up scaring him away if he knew the truth about her, so she supposes she'll tuck that into the back of her mind for the time-being. " no, i just meant - you're from the past. surely, something must've happened in this city that's weird. like, beyond the obvious, i mean. have you seen anything like that with your own eyes ? "
