western kentucky tornado relief

hi, it would mean a lot to me if yall shared this post. last night (12/10/21) a historically massive and destructive tornado tore through four different states. the hardest hit area was western kentucky. mayfield, a town about 20 minutes from my home town, was completely leveled. a candle factory there collapsed with 110 people inside, only 40 have been rescued and the last live recovery was from 4 am this morning. the death toll in kentucky is expected to be at least 100 people.

The right to a fair trial is a human right. In practice, a fair trial necessitates a lawyer. This means that even if somebody committed the worst crimes you could possibly imagine, they still deserve a lawyer.

Somebody has to defend them as a matter of human rights. As one of my professors said, way back in my first semester at uni: "Everybody deserves to have somebody in their corner."

And like, not to mention that "getting sick" for some people can also KILL others. Like, the medicine to save them doesn't always work.

And ignoring how very real and deadly this can be (speaking from experience alright), it's also just a very shitty thing to do. Most people are ignorant to the details that go into making sure food is safe, and most people also go "...probably," when you ask, and ignorance is a big factor.

With the increase in diets and trends and fads, people have chalked up deadly allergies, intolerances, and body reactions to a conscious choice or "not that big of a deal." In fact, there's an entire community of people that don't really believe allergies exist, or than they can do much harm (my grandpa was one of them). This kind of rhetoric KILLS people, again.

But also, like, again, if someone chooses to have a diet or not eat certain foods, even if they don't have a detrimental or deadly reaction to it, you're taking away their choice and autonomy in what they put in their bodies. Like, what a messed up thing to do to someone. Not even adding that you don't ever really KNOW that person's reasons.

So yeah, I don't like going out to eat where one person's willful or misguided ignorance will likely put me in a grave.

it would be REALLY, REALLY FUNNY….if Roach has been the same horse for like…..fifty years…..and Geralt doesn’t notice his horse is magic, because how long do horses live? 100? This is Fine. Horses, he’s found, are surprisingly sturdy. One time a catastrophic storm sank Geralt’s ship and drowned literally everyone on board but Roach was found chilling on shore, a-okay.
