Ciel: So once that solemn man gets some alcohol into him, this is how he becomes? From the looks of it, he’s a repeat offender. Sebastian: Even so, showing little self-constraint one has… I wonder whether he’s just an immense fool or whether he knows no shame at all. Ciel: Seems like the incurable type of guy that’d make a doctor hopeless.

"Speaking of daddies, Ciel’s daddy made a little appearance in the latest volume [*vol. 9]. I always keep in mind to draw him differently depending on the person who is recollecting him (I try so but I’m not sure if I managed it), like this:

Madam Red -> a gentle man who she wants to forget Ciel -> a gentle father Kelvin ->  kind looking evil man Tanaka -> Earl Phantomhive, the ‘evil nobleman’

Knowing this, my assistant asked me recently: “Omg, Ciel’s daddy looks sooo evil! Could it be that he is the main villain!?”

I replied to her “What were you expecting, he’s Ciel’s father after all.” and then she was like “Ahh… ok, I got it.” I mean, if he [*Vincent] were a wholeheartedly good person, there’s no way he would have a child with such twisted and evil personality [*like Ciel]! (lol)   Ciel might have been a normal child until he turned ten, but he probably already had had the groundings [*in evilness] prior to that event, … you know it’s in their blood.

There’s that old saying “One’s foster parents have more influence on the child than one’s real parents.”: Ciel became an extreme saddist due to Sebastian’s education in the last three years and it seems like the evil blood in him [*the evil side of his personality] was completely awakened [by Sebastian].

But if we consider the possibility that Vincent might have been brought up by Tanaka-san, that old guy must be quite…… oh I rather stop here.

I think when people, who only know the good guy Vincent from anime season 1, read the latest volume, they will probably wonder like “Oh.. is that really him? The same person?” (lol)”

 I found this list of servant rules at Warwick Castle during my  last visit, in the Victorian section of the exhibit within the castle.  I don’t roleplay within that era myself but I thought it would be  useful for those on here who do, or those who wish to write   anything based upon that era. These rules would probably have  been used within the Edwardian era too, primarily aimed towards  women, but not excluding male servants. Also, during my tour we  were shown how the servants of the household moved throughout  the castle. It was not proper to be seen moving through the corridors,  especially when moving food from the kitchens to the dining area. In  order to move from the servants quarters to the dining room etc, the  servants would use their own passage ways; dark & cold stairways  leading directly from the lower floors where the servants stayed and  cooked, to numerous rooms within the house. When moving food  from the kitchens to the dining area, servants would stand in these  corridors with plates of food waiting for their turn to take it to the  table. And these corridors are hidden behind doors that blended  in with the room; ‘hidden doors’. There is an example under the cut.  Where the servant rules are primarily Victorian/Edwardian, these  hidden corridors would have also been used before these eras.  Hope this helps.
