Tbh, this is actually much kinder and easier on the people you rely on as well.

Often times supporting people is a bit hard. When such a person is constantly saying sorry and putting on the emotional weight for you to make them feel better about being sorry, that’s just more work. Saying thank you to someone for what they’ve already done, helps them feel like they are making the right decisions in how to support you. And lessens the work. 

Depression, anxiety, illness, and self doubt are hard. On yourself, and on others, which makes it even harder, as the fear of alienating everyone is often petrifying. This is doubly difficult as often at our worse, we want validation that yes, things are wrong. “I’m not crazy, things are hard”. 

However, the best way to do this is to openly ask for validation, and to openly be grateful for those who help us. 

Don’t beat yourself up from when you might have done the wrong thing in the past, just focus on doing this next time.

you know what i dont understand?? 

why dont adults have sleepovers or spoon with their platonic friends or hang out until sunrise?? when are you supposed to stop putting your head in a random friends lap and telling them to play with your hair?? when do we stop going to the grocery store together and spending the night at each others places and crowding as many of our friends onto our beds as possible so we can snuggle and gossip?

i dont want a house in the suburbs i want an place in the city with a bunch of my pals and dogs where we hang out in the kitchen and dogpile on the couch if one of us is sad
