QUESTION: [Last Life] While throwing the poison potion in session 6, did you realise that Bdubs was also there? How do you feel about what happened?

joined a characted ask a while back, and now im finally getting around to posting the stuff i drew for it!

a bit of context for the comic: during session 6, etho (the boogeyman) suggested everyone to stand in a huddle to prove their trust, and then threw a poison potion under their feet. mumbo (the second boogeyman) used this situation to blow up an end crystal, killing only bdubs (the third boogeyman).

Life series!Jimmy is so fascinating to me because you could argue Jimmy has learned to trust the bit more than the people around him since he has been the butt of the joke for so long.

This is why people who precieve him as someone clueless/incapable is frustrating. Jimmy is NOT clueless, he is prideful. He’s the series’ jester and has cultivated that into his character. A core flaw of his is the fact that he doesn’t know when to quit, taking a bit so far that it damages trust from other players.

…Until he’s with Joel.

For some reason, Jimmy is obsessed with Joel and only keeps his loyalty if it’s him. Which is crazy because Joel, who holds excessive ego, reciprocates this. Both will mention former allies (Jimmy with Scott or Tango, Joel with Etho) but that devotion doesn’t shine unless it’s between those two specifically.

Joel calling Jimmy (correct me if it was the other way around) his liege in Nice Life, Joel declaring how this was meant to be Jimmy’s win that same season. Joel constantly worrying over Jimmy in Secret Life. Joel latched to Jimmy’s hip, to the point where his dying words were hopes that Jimmy wins in Past Life. The fact that you can’t help but feel Joel and Jimmy would’ve paired in Double Life if it was any other season. The entirety of Joel and Jimmy throughout Limited Life.

Smallidarity can really be boiled down to: “Hey, what if this playboy (Joel) and jester (Jimmy)—who have become so normal to the idea of keeping their alliance shallow—find themselves unconsciously devoting every once of their being for one another, to the point of self-sacrifice.”
