hi I’m John! I’m a variety blog, I’m 18, and my pronouns are he/him and I’m a cis male. Texas resident but mindset is omnipresent, everywhere all the time. My interests are: Modern Folk Music, California living, mountain living, beach life, RV life, travel, music, cooking, food, recipes, Smash Mouth, Hollow Coves, chilling, Blink-182, and having fun!

29. an adventure I went on the I really enjoyed was my first time going to a restaurant alone when I was in ridgeway Colorado last summer. I had a visa gift card, and my mom told me I could go out to eat anywhere I wanted unsupervised. I went to this place I had been to before with my family called the True Grit Cafe. It was an amazing place in that town known for its comfort food, and great rustic atmosphere. I sat down at the bar, and the waitress immediately noticed. She was an older lady, late 50s early 60s, and she was an absolute sweetheart. She immediately picked up that I wasn’t from around there, and did everything to make me feel comfortable. There was also 2 or 3 other older couples there, and they were all so nice. There was also this old man there. This old man and I struck up a conversation about what I’m doing with my life, and eventually it got to the topic politics. This man was an avid trump supporter, and since he knew I was from Texas, he assumed I liked trump too. I do no, and when he brought it up, I tried to shut it down. He persisted, and so I ended up telling him to the best of my ability knowledge what was wrong with the administration. He stormed out of that bar faster than I thought possible for someone his age, and then this old lady that was sitting near us burst out laughing. She said “Thats the first time I’ve ever seen someone shut him up that fast!”, and then everybody around us started laughing. That old lady left 30 minutes later, and after I ate my food, so did I. I want to go back to that restaurant, just to relive that moment. It felt amazing not being put down by my elders for beliefs I hold strong and true, and they even congratulated me for holding my ground. I’ll never forget it, because thats what gave me the confidence to start going out on my own more.
