Recent reports from child-welfare workers reveal that the white adoptive parents of six abused Black children was a perfect storm of narcissism and twistedā¦
Last week, dozens of pages of reports from child-welfare officials were released that offer harrowing details of the abuse that six Black children suffered at the hands of their adoptive white parents, Jennifer and Sarah Hart, in Washington State. Ā A drunken Jennifer drove them all off a 100-foot cliff in Northern California in the familyās SUV. Markis, 19, Jeremiah, 14, Abigail, 14, and Ciera, 12, are all confirmed dead; Devonte, 15, and Hannah, 16, remain missing, but are feared dead.
But while the report provides a lot of disturbing details about the degree of physical and emotional abuse, it poses more questions than offers answers, and paints a gruesome portrait of the parents, who beat and starved and gaslighted their children before murdering them all, and committing suicide.
The child-welfare reports revealed that officials in Minnesota, Oregon, and Washington State recorded incidents of neglect and abuse, and people in their communities noticed there was something off. The children were malnourished and were described by neighbors as behaving ālike trained robotsā and ālike little soldiersā; they were forced to raise their hand before speaking; they were punished for laughing at the table and for āstealingā pizza from the fridge when they were hungry. In 2011, Sarah Hart shoved banana and nuts into her daughter Hannahās mouth after the girl had told the school nurse she hadnāt eaten, and then Sarah said Ā she was āplaying the food cardā and to just give her water. School officials witnessed this. Neighbors. Friends. Theyād seen the kind of meticulous, orderly and punitive unlivable environment theyād set up for their six beautiful Black children, whose souls they were trying to crush.
Rather than face the consequences of their actions, they chose to flee and kill themselves and their whole family just as they were being pursued by the Department of Social and Health Services, who showed up at their door on March 23, in Washington, to find an empty house. They came, incidentally, following a call it took a neighbor six months to make, after Hannah jumped out of a second-story window at 1:30 a.m. and scrambled into her home asking to be hidden, and telling the neighbor that her racist parents whipped her with belts and begged her not to make her return to the Hart household.
I honestly donāt know what could motivate a parent to exact such abuse on children. And I canāt tell whether these women were trying to, consciously or not, fulfill some deranged modern-day plantation narrative or live out a Blind Side fantasy, but regardless, their position as the racial superior, be it as the slave master or the white savior, was all but assured. They were raising young Black children to be beholden to them, to worship them, to submit to them.
Many people are still trying to make sense of this nightmare. While some of their friends continue to defend the mothers, this case reveals a lot of discomforting truths about race in America. One: Why are their friends still defending them? Two: Why, when there were members of the childrenās own family availing themselves to care for them, did the system insist on placing the children with the Harts? And after so many citations in so many states, why didnāt anyone intervene and sooner?
The complicity of systems that conspired to keep these children in these womenās care is as violent as the household in which they were enslaved. These pages of documents can attest that these children were far from safe. That this could have been stopped before it was literally too late.
The Hart children are not an isolated incident either: Cassandra Killpack,Ā Michael Tinning, Hannah Grace-Rose Williams, Lydia Schatz, Timothy Boss,Ā Hana Williams, Ahmad King are Black adoptees murdered by their white adoptive parents.Ā
You wonder why. Why did these parents take in these children and kill them? And why were they not screened carefully? Why was no one paying attention to allegations of abuse?

This article was posted on May 2, 2018. Iām just now learning about it. Either this story went viral and I missed it or it was quietly reported to not further boost the concern of white familiesĀ āraisingā Black children to live out their racist fantasies, abusing them, and using them asĀ āthe help.ā Iām going with the latter. They swept that under the rug like they do with other acts of white violence and hostility. Case in point: domestic terrorism. (Thatās a whole nother topic.)
All of the Hart children, except for Devonte whoās still listed as āmissing,ā have been reported to be dead since that article was made due to their remains being found.Ā
Yāall remember little Devonte, right?
This Hart family is the same white couple who made Devonte do that fake ass photo op during a Ferguson rally in Portland that went viral as āthe Ferguson hugā to ārestore faith in humanityā by the media for white (and non-white) āitās not about raceā people to eat up in the midst of the heightened and evident police brutality against Black people.Ā
Anti-blackness and violence against Black people fueled by racism isnāt just in America; itās global. Donāt even get me started on the treatment of Black people in Brazil for one.Ā
People are still conditioned in believing that Black people are the ones who are violent aggressive by nature when history consistently proven otherwise.Ā
Oh waitā¦thereās more:Ā
Devonte Hartās Biological Mother Breaks Her Silence After Learning Devastating News of Her Childrenās Deaths
The biological mother of three Black children adopted by an abusive white couple has broken her silence after learning her kids were likely killed last month after one of the women drove the familyās car off a California cliff.
Sherry Davis said she was devastated when she first heard the news, nearly a month after her three biological children, Devonte, Jeremiah and Sierra Davis, died in what was initially thought to be a tragic accident. Devonte, in particular, was the subject of a viral photo of him in a tight embrace with a police officer at a rally for slain Missouri teen Mike Brown in 2014 ā a photo his mother had never seen before last Thursday, according to The Oregonian.
avis, who lives in Texas and works as a home care attendant, learned of her childrenās fates just last week and is still struggling to process it. Speaking with The Oregonian, she acknowledged her battle with cocaine addiction but said she got herself clean in hopes of one day regaining custody of her kids. That day would never come.
Clarence Celestine, the father of Jeremiah and Sierra, said heās been unable to sleep since he heard what happened. His sister, Priscilla Celestine, fought for custody of Devonte and his siblings but was denied by a Texas court after she briefly left the three children alone with Davis, who was still on drugs at the time.
āI donāt understand why they took the kids from my sister,ā Clarence Celestine, 66, told the newspaper.
āAnd gave them to monsters,ā Davis chimed in. ā ⦠Theyāre so quick to snatch [children] from people like us, but once theyāre adopted, they donāt even check on them?ā
Even when she was hooked on drugs, Davis insisted her children were always fed and well taken care of. After learning the Hartās had adopted her children, the mother said she suffered a relapse.
āI gave up,ā Davis said, adding that it took nearly a year for her to regain her sobriety. Sheās been clean for years now, according to The Oregonian.
Davis said one last thing she hopes to do is have her childrenās bodies brought back to Texas where they can be laid to rest close to her.

Henry Javier Cruz Moreno was a law abiding, tax paying Honduran man living in Aurora, CO. He built a food pantry for the poor in his community, and stocked it regularly. He cared for, loved, and supported his chronically ill wife, whom he had been with for 20 years. He loved his step-daughter and her two daughters, helping to raise them. They were as close as you could imagine. He was an upstanding member of his community; he was a beloved and involved father. He ran a carpet cleaning business. He was a kind, peaceful member of society. Until he was taken.
Every morning for 20 years, Henry would walk his wife Priscilla out to her car and kiss her goodbye. ICE watched this morning routine for two weeks. When they picked him up in 2018 on the 12th of September, moments after his wife departed for work, they mocked him for it. There was a reason he was so dedicated to kissing her goodbye every day: 20 years ago, Henry and Priscilla had an argument that got out of hand. The police were called, and although the subsequent charge given to Henry was minor, according to Priscilla, they immediately knew they could not allow their relationship to remain the way it was. They felt it was rock bottom, but they did not want to give up. They joined a church, stopped drinking, and vowed to never go to bed angry. They put hard work into their marriage and they came out on the other side of this event as new people; Priscilla often says she cannot even remember the people they were back then. In the 19 years following that heated argument, Henry and Priscilla found a love for each other that is enviable. They built a beautiful life and helped their community together. All of that is being invalidated nineteen years later, simply on the basis that the current administration wants any and every illegal immigrant detained (as opposed to the previous administrationās approach of starting with recent, violent offenders). All of the hard work Henry and Priscilla put into their marriage and their lives has been ignored for the sake of an agenda. This is not a dangerous man, and to punish him as one after he has spent nearly two decades reforming himself and the community around him would be unjust.
Priscilla Cruz Moreno is about to turn 62 years old. She planned to retire after this birthday, due to chronic illness and stress. She has since begun liquidating her very small retirement to fight for her husbandās return. She currently can not afford a uterine biopsy to check for cancer, and she has lost her soulmate, her partner, her best friend, without knowing when she will see him again. She suffers daily from panic attacks- they all must. Farah, their daughter, has a brain tumor. She cannot afford to operate. She is close to having to sell her own home to help her mother stay above the water. She tells me, in the beginning, she fought the hardest. She was sure they would bring him home. Now, she struggles to open emails, expecting bad news. Farahās two daughters are suffering from a deep depression after a loss they canāt comprehend. Priscilla and Farah have stressed that Henry had been an incredible emotional support to his 16 year old granddaughter who already struggled with depression and suicide. After a suicide attempt that resulted in hospitalization, Farah tells me her daughter didnāt sleep for 72 hours. That is, until Henry, her āDappyā, rushed in. They slept together on the couch in the hospital room that night. He told her he loved her the whole time. They were a normal, loving family of five with a family business and a close knit community. Now they are struggling to make it through each day.
This is a letter written by Farahās 16 year old, submitted to help substatiate the claim that Henryās deportation would cause irreparable mental damage to his granddaughters.
This letter was ignored.
Henryās conditions are deplorable. There are worms in his food, he has been mocked and taunted, and he is being denied his prescription medication and even simple over the counter products like Vickās vapor rub, because āit is all in his headā. I didnāt have room to post the screenshots of Farahās message to me, detailing Thanksgiving 2018, so I will quote her below instead.
āWe visited Henry on Thanksgiving. They turn the phone off at the centers at 11pm on Thursday nights so people canāt call their families if they suspect they may deport in the middle of the night. We had been given a deportation order in 10/30 but were appealing it.
They donāt turn phones back on, on Fridays until all planes land because they donāt want anybody calling each others families to let them know theyāre being deported. It kills my mom because Henry calls her like 5 times a day.
On Black Friday Henry finally called her at 4pm, his voice strained. He told her they woke him up at 2am and threw his clothes on his face. He was taken on 9/12/18 so he was wearing khaki shorts and a polo. Itās been 20 degrees and less in Colorado at night. We didnāt bring him other clothes because he wasnāt supposed to be deported.
He told them it was a mistake but they still forced him to gather what he had (pictures we sent him, letters from my girls and his commissary food). They shackled his feet and handcuffed him and kept him outside in a weird shed. He refused to sign the paperwork insisting our attorneys filed paperwork. They threatened saying he would be in trouble if he didnāt sign. He said āIām not signing we are appealing.ā
They left him out in the freezing cold, shackled and handcuffed for 8 hours while they āresearchedā where the appeal was. Not offering a jacket or blanket or anything.
Once they found it they said āoh oops. Ok..ā then gave him back some scrubs and sent him to his cell.
He was sick for 2 weeks after.
Itās evil. They are evil people.ā
This innocent family is in dire straits. Starting today, Friday, February 8th, 2019, Henry could be deported at any time. Their appeal was denied this week. Theyāve filed an emergency stay of deportation appeal, but they donāt know what they will hear back.
Priscilla has provided me with the phone numbers and names of their state representatives and the Governor. Her lawyers have given her the green light to start making calls requesting Henry be granted a pardon. Making a brief phone call to government officials (whose numbers I will post at the bottom) and telling them that Henry Cruz Moreno, held at the Aurora ICE/GEO Detention Center in Colorodo, should be returned to live with his US citizen family who have applied for him to be pardoned, could make the difference these poor, lovely people need to bring home Henry. Calling representatives will only make a difference if enough voices are heard. Pardoning Henry for this case from 20 years ago is their Hail Mary. Without legislative support for his pardon, he could very well be sent to Honduras. If you donāt like making phone calls, please. Pass this on to someone who could call. Other ways to get involved? You could donate money, supplies, or care packages to the Cruz Moreno family. You could get in touch with me here, or Priscilla on twitter for information on how to write letters to Henry while heās in holding.
These people are far from the only ones being affected right now by ICEās cruelty. Priscilla often says she feels that they are here to showcase the inhumanity so many are enduring. Farah intends to write a book full of stories theyāve been told by others since Henryās detainment. It is easy to feel like there is nothing you can do for people like Henry. It is easy to feel powerless when you do not know where to start with activism. But it is as simple as this: do good when you can. If you have time today to call on behalf of the Cruz Moreno family, if you have the spare cash right now to help them buy groceries, if you have the desire to offer words of encouragement to a man who has spent over 140 days away from his family.. please do that. They need help. They have been fighting an uphill battle for a long time, and they donāt know how much longer they have.

Emphasize that his only mistake was two decades ago and that this punishment does not fit the crime. Urge them to listen to the people.
Please get involved. Please call. Please bring Henry Javier Cruz Moreno home safely.
He is now at risk to be deported next week. Please call the numbers above and sign the petition.

Hello, my name is _____, and I am calling on behalf of Henry Javier Cruz-Moreno, who is currently being held at the Aurora ICE detention center. I urge that the [governor/representative] issue a pardon and release for Henry, back to his family and community that he so dearly loves, instead of allowing his deportation. Thank you for your time.
This New Orleans Cosmetics Mogul Made $1 Million In 90 Minutes
Ms. Raynell Steward, better known as Wuzzam Supa or Supa_Cent on Instagram has helped us laugh with her comedy skits, throw down in the kitchen with her cooking videos, and level up with her inspirational posts about hustling smarter instead of harder.
This New Orleans native took the exposure from her viral Vine and Instagram videos but also her leap of faith and started her business in 2017: a cosmetics line inspired by school supplies. She is now known as the entrepreneur who sold $1 million worth of her products in 90 minutes on Cyber Monday 2018, sending her supporters into a frenzy and leaving her speculators confused, asking: Harpo, who is dis Supa woman?
Ironically enough, The Crayon Case is a line that is dedicated to amateur makeup artists, and if you are an avid follower of Supa, you wonāt be surprised to see her uploading various videos of her impromptu makeup tutorials filled with tips and suggestions.
As with most entrepreneurs, her road to this newfound success was not easy, unlike some who covered this yearās Forbes list with a false āself-madeā title (side eye). Nonetheless, Supa has made sure to share her obstacles and experiences along the way to help other women who are reluctant to start investing in their dreams and essentially, boss up. Supa shares: āY'all be underestimating yourselves. If something is poppinā - it donāt matter who made it, who created - if itās poppinā, b*itch they gonā see it.ā
Supa was correct about her creativeness being noticed, as Crayola approached the CEO about her designs and how they closely resembled those of the branded crayons. Supa responded by immediately stopping production and changing her designs, even asking for the mega brandās approval of her revisions. To her surprise, shortly after Crayola debuted their own cosmetic line that bared a shocking resemblance to Supaās products. She explains:
āThey have the right to tell me āb*itch take that off, thatās my sh*itā so we changed it with no problem, so I understand. I infringed their brand first, so why can I be mad at them for seeing some sh*t is poppin'⦠Iām not about to poke no bear. Iām not about to go [to] them and say, āYou stole my shit, Iām taking you to court,ā b*tch no! Those people could have sued meā¦and they didnāt. So why would I go sue those people for something they rightfully could do?ā
Supa took her āLā like a champ, and learned as a lesson in how important it is to really invest in trademarking and researching thoroughly before debuting any new products. The incident was just a slight stumble on her road to success, as she was able to bring her story to the 2018 Essence Music Festival stage this past summer, solidifying her status as a hometown hero.
The quality of Supaās products precedes her larger than life social media personality and existence in the virtual beauty world, as she really spent a lot of time perfecting her products. Being a darker hue of brown, Supa kept high pigment and longevity of the products in mind, specifically The Crayon Case āishadowā palette.
Supaās products are fun, fresh, and affordable with the hit sold out Crayon Casepalette being priced at $30 and the 7-piece pencil shadow brush set to match at $18.
Supa is a 30-year-old CEO and mother of a young son, awaiting the arrival of her daughter with her supportive fiance, and has worked over 15 jobs in her hometown before quitting her job as a waitress and following her dreams. Some may call her an overnight success, however, supporters of Supa know the hard work and dedication she has put into this victory. In her own words, she shares:
āDonāt hate on yourself. Along your journey, many people will tell you what you canāt and what shouldnāt do. Donāt be that person to yourself.ā

I remember first learning that you can cry from any emotion, that emotions are chemical levels in your brain and your body is constantly trying to maintain equilibrium. so if one emotion sky rockets, that chemical becomes flagged and signals the tear duct to open as an exit to release that emotion packaged neatly within a tear. Everything made sense after learning that. That sudden stability of your emotions after crying. How crying is often accompanied by the inability to feel any other emotion in that precise moment. And it is especially beautiful knowing that it is even possible to experience so much beauty or love or happiness that your body literally canāt hold on to all of it. So what Iāve learned is that crying signifies that you are feeling as much as humanely possible and that is living to the fullest extent. So keep feeling and cry often and as much as needed
SHIT WHAT
Also let yourself cry. It really is a biochemical release valve to dump out all the chemicals that make you feel stuff.
I honestly think one reason men in western culture have so many problems is that we donāt let them cry, and literally their brains get stuffed with all this crap that doesnāt have a release valve. Men, please cry. Youāll feel better. Itās ok. You are not lesser for taking care of your health.
This is why tears from different emotions look different under an electron microscope. Theyāre literally made up of different things.Ā
Happy tears are structurally different than sad tears than angry tears than overwhelmed tears etc.
