This is a truism in parenting! Not allowing any noise when your new baby sleeps is only going to make it harder for them to fall asleep with mild to moderate noise present as they get older, creating hardship for them and for the rest of the family. In fact, some new moms will intentionally plan to do certain chores around nap time in the first few weeks of a baby’s life to create a little extra “house noise” (dishwasher, washing machine, vacuum cleaner, etc) to help ensure that noise doesn’t become an obstacle later.
