And that means so has the writing for To Hell and Back!
To elaborate, National Novel Writing Month (more colloquially known as NaNoWriMo) officially began on November 1, as it does every year. And, if you read my other story the superhero game, you’ll know that I’ve selected to write Arc V of To Hell and Back for this year’s NaNoWriMo.
Thus far, it’s going well. It’s November 5 now and I already have four chapters completed, with 11,000 words in total. For those unaware, the goal of NaNoWriMo is to write 50,000 words by the end of November. That mean’s I’m already one fifth of the way through! Of course, chances are Arc V is going to exceed 50,000 words, but that’s still quite a lot of chapters.
When I complete NaNoWriMo, I’ll begin the editing process for those chapters and start posting. According to the NaNo website, I could be done by November 20 if I keep up my current rate, so consider that a tentative date for now, though not a guarantee. Either way, however, you have quite a lot of material to look forward to!
In the meantime, if you’re still hungry for something to chew on until the updates begin, I have a few suggestions. The first, of course, is that you re-read the story again so it’s fresh in your mind. You could also update the TV Tropes page in the mean time while you’re at it. I’m sure there are plenty of things in the story that haven’t been covered in the tropes page yet.
The second is that you read my other major stories. My Jason Todd Peggy Sue series could use some love as well. While the first story, one day at a time, is a more wholesome story that focuses on the Bat-Family (conspicuously the one DC Superhero family that will not be represented in To Hell and Back), the second story, the superhero game, is a more wide-spanning story that brings in almost all of the major heroes of the DCU. It also shares more similarities with To Hell and Back. Both stories haves TV Tropes pages as well, if you’re into that.
The third option is to read some recommended stories. I know I’ve recommended ArlyssTolero’s Arrow: Rebirth series more than once, and I’ll recommend it here again. Arrow: Rebirth also has TV Tropes page. There are other writers I’d recommend too: Lyco (primarily on FFN), RayWritesThings (a very prolific Lauriver writer on AO3), and Okori-Prime (another Lauriver writer). ArlyssTolero also has other stories besides Arrow: Rebirth that would also fit your tastes, especially if you like Lauriver.
Well, that’s it for now. Look out for the next updates! And if you’re a writer, I highly recommend trying out NaNoWriMo! It’s a lot of fun, and you get a lot of goodies if you win.
