Here’s some info on the pics above. I try to get pics of the museum labels whenever possible but sometimes I can’t. They are in the same order as the ones above though!!

Finished Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer on the train!
I honestly give this book a 10/10. I loved it. I think Krakauer is an excellent writer and journalist. I also think Chris McCandless has an incredible and misunderstood story. Even since finding out about him, I’d been scouring articles, podcasts, and YouTube videos about him before reading this. This book was the best source I’ve had for understanding what Chris went through.
Of course, we will never know the full story, but I admire Chris for his ambition and bravery. It’s unfortunate he had to pass. I bet he would’ve had one hell of an adventure to tell people about. I hope he’s resting in peace. 🕊️
Fun fact, I was born on July 3rd, and so was Franz Kafka.
Naturally I had my mom make me a Kafka cake, not only because we share a birthday, but because of that one meme about it.
Happy birthday Kafka!!

Finished reading The Stranger finally… decided to read the last bit while doing laundry.
I rate this book 4.5/5 ⭐️
I’m just getting into this genre (not sure what it’s officially called, but Kafka and Dostoevsky are on my list if that helps), so my review probably doesn’t mean too much… but this was an excellent book. The only thing that brought it down from a 5 was just that some of the plot points seemed random to me, though I feel like that was 100% the point. Absurdism, yknow. Things will always be weird and that’s okay.
I feel like this was an excellent book about how indifference and apathy can be harmful, and how doing nothing can be just as bad as doing something. Really shifted my perspective. I really recommend this book to anyone just… stuck. A lot of the time, I think it’s best to just lay back and let things happen, but it isn’t good to do that 24/7, because then you become a complete outsider to your own story.

I now am a decently successful and motivated college student so I will be making more original posts when the summer semester starts up again 🙏 I promise!

Biggest life lesson or advice you would give to others:
The most important thing you can ever do for yourself is build up a good group of friends/family. Invest in your relationships no matter how difficult it is to fit in time. Because lots of things happen on this journey of life and different things will strike different ppl at different times and you will need people to lean on emotionally, physically, etc. I know we are in an age of independence and everyone living alone but no matter how much screentime we consume and advice we can get from youtube videos nothing replaces real humans who care about you and you care for them! A single smile from someone you know can do more for your problems than 100 informative youtube videos.
Personally I think sometimes as studyblrs we can become so engrossed in our studies and goals we may sacrifice time with loved ones without batting an eyelid. But we need those relationships!
Okay genuine question that feels stupid to ask at this point in my life: how do you study with your notes? Because I’m currently having to blast through writing notes and I know I will not retain anything right now.
I don’t know if it’s ADHD or what, but I also get bored with a lot of the study methods I’ve heard of. Like flashcards, highlighting, etc. It just feels like I learn it again for 5 minutes and the information is then gone from my brain.
What could I do to help study for quizzes/tests? And if this helps, it’s mostly for my intro to sociology class. Studying Spanish is a lot easier, but sociology feels harder to apply to my life since with Spanish I could watch a Spanish show or listen to music in Spanish.
practice test are really helpful, at least for me. it is an active study method instead of a passive one (like highligthing) so it works better. i usually use uquiz to make them (the free-text opcion, not the scored one bc the idea is to write down the answer) but it also works on paper, etc
blurting is also a good way if you havent tried that one
I’ve never heard of blurting, though after looking it up I think it would help me a lot! Thanks for suggesting that.
Also I wanted to do practice tests but couldn’t figure out how to do them but I’ll look into UQuiz. Thanks so much, because yeah a lot of study tips I’ve been told to do are passive (like highlighting and rereading) and they never help me actually retain the info long-term.
