The hero's face contracted into a grotesque mess and their body bent in ways not humanly possible. The villain looked at the scene, horrified. They took to their heels, terrified of the creature that Hero had become.
Villain was almost done with robbing the Pemberly Mansion when Hero had quickly intercepted them.
"Why don't you actually get a job instead of doing such lowly work?" The hero had scoffed with disdain, perched on the window like a raven. The hero got down from the windowsill, closing the shutters gingerly before looking at the bare room.
"You know what I think is lowly? Having ten bosses and landlords who can make you dance to their tunes. Absolutely pathetic. Atleast I'm my own boss, my own person." The villain stuck their tongue out at the Hero.
They had finished stuffing the Emerald necklace in their rucksack when a low rumbling sound emerged from the first storey of the mansion.
"Ummm what was that? I had sedated the lady well, there's no way she's up alr-"
The loud slam of a door cut off Villain's tirade. It sounded close by.
"The lady was passed out. I saw while climbing." The hero whispered.
The villain stared at the Hero unblinking, trying to process this sudden ruckus in the house.
"Wasn't there a rumor that Pemberly is haunted?" The hero whispered.
"Let's get out of here. Open the window." The villain whispered. The hero quickly reached for the shutters which refused to budge. They tugged at it with all their might but the window remained shut. The Hero looked at the Villain's terrified face. If the situation was different and Hero wasn't so superstitious, they would've laughed. But the situation wasn't so funny.
"Nobody was in the mansion when you came in right? It might have been the wind. Let's take the door." The Hero tried to be rational, drying their sweaty palms on their pants. The mansion was unnervingly silent and every creak which their boot made rang loud in the silence.
The hero reached for the door knob and twisted it open. The door creaked perfectly, just like the horror films. The hallway was dark with nobody in sight.
"Come on" The Hero whispered and grabbed Villain by their arm, stepping over the threshold into the hallway.
Atleast that is what the Villain had thought until they started free falling. Everything happened quickly, too quickly. The pair tumbled onto each other in a brightly lit yellow hallway.
"What was that? What? Where are we? What happened?" The villain frantically asked. One moment they were in the dark room and next moment they were free falling into the brightly lit hallway. The Villain whipped their head around to make sense of their surroundings.
They were in a hallway. A very long hallway which seemed to stretch for miles. The hallway was also extremely narrow, so much so that the Villain started feeling uncomfortable. "Where in the fuck are we?" The Villain looked back at the surprisingly quiet hero. The Hero looked up at the Villain, eyes brimming with tears.
The words were barely out of their mouth when their skin started peeling off, revealing red flesh as a terrifying shriek emerged from Hero's mouth.
