It’s fucking insane that women can’t even gather. We have to be underground, word of mouth, in the middle of the woods in tents, just to be allowed to speak freely. Doesn’t that feel crazy? Don’t get me wrong, I love being in the woods with women, but why must we be so hidden while men can shout and scream at the top of their lungs in every city across the US? Why is it SO disproportionate? All we are asking for is to be left alone but it requires so much obfuscation. Men have entire parades, women must whisper on secret channels and hide in the forest.

While this isn't news to anyone who works in this space, it is useful to have this water-is-wet research to affirm that Indigenous knowledge and land management are extremely effective at storing carbon and protecting biodiversity.

I want to draw special attention to this part of the article:

New research shows that approach overlooks the key role that Indigenous knowledge and culture can play in mitigating climate change. It also reveals a dangerous misconception that has taken hold in global climate discussions: the idea that Indigenous lands are so rich because they are remote or sparsely populated. Nothing could be further from the truth. The health of Indigenous lands and their ability to store vast quantities of carbon stem from the stewardship of the people who inhabit them.

i have an anecdotal experience that supports this. one time in college i was standing at a bus stop and i fainted. there were like 5 guys standing at the bus stop right behind me who just stood there staring at me, but there was a woman jogging across the street who ran across 2 lanes of traffic to help me up and give me something to drink

I tripped and fell quite hard wearing a long skirt back in my forced religious days and I was struggling to get up. Men literally walked around me on the footpath and an elderly lady with a CANE offered me assistance.

I remember thinking that she offered me help when she was probably as unsteady as I was feeling but all these "protectors" and self-imagined "heroes" just shuffled past.

I complained about it and women agreed with me, but also came to the defense of the men. They probably were scared of touching a strange lady!! False accusations don't you know! Better to not get involved!

I've talked about this before but in my women's self defense course in high school our teacher told us that if we ever did end up getting attacked to never go to a man always go to the nearest woman or mother with a child. She told us it's because men typically will attack a victim again since they see victims as already ruined. 😢

In the course of evolution, the ocean—the protective and nourishing space, the amniotic fluids, even the lunar-tidal rhythm—was transferred into the individual female body. And the penis, a mechanical device for land reproduction, evolved.

The penis first appeared in the Age of Reptiles, about 200 million years ago. Our archetypal association of the snake with the phallus contains, no doubt, this genetic memory. I’m seeing so many young girls come right out of the trans right activist pipeline into radical feminism (understandable!!!) treating it like it’s another “identity”. babes it’s an ideology - you can believe in it (parts of it) but it’s not who you are. You’ll burn out treating like an identity, just take a step back from treating online communities like a defining feature of the self.

Witches were and are persecuted (sometimes under different names) because they believed in and prioritized women, female human beings. Because they acknowledged and held sacred the female body with it’s cycles and gifts, female wisdom, and female spirituality, just as the witches of today do now. You can not understand withcraft if you do not acknowledge the specificity in being born female. You do not follow the witches of the old if you persecute women today who acknowledge ‘woman’ being a material reality based in our bodies and who see this reality as sacred. If you choose men over women, or deny the specific reality in being a woman, born female, your have gone against the very foundation of what being a witch is.
