Intro

I am Locust, though I also go by many names, including Percy, Roan, Eric and Erris! Though I prefer being called Locust if we are not well acquainted.

I use he/it pronouns, though I don’t mind they/them if you’re uncomfortable using it/its.

I’m open to DMs with people and I want to make friends, I just ask that you have patience with me because I am scatterbrained and don’t check messages sometimes.

This is a multifandom account that will be randomly flooded with whatever hyperfixation gets through the current special interest, and my media diet is wide so that will be anything under the sun. Someone commented on my fic about wanting to see more language barrier, but I have almost no idea how to do that because I don't want it to get frustrating to read. I've also somewhat exhausted the ideas I did have. I could make it more of a feature, but I'm not sure how to balance it in a way that's both satisfying and fun to read.

Have we considered Human!Rocky using an AAC device?

An AU where he was a crewmate and during his coma the breathing tube scarred his vocal chords signifactly making him mute. He builds his own AAC program after recovering and after creating his own verbal shorthand in the name of efficiency he ends up recreating his original quirky eridian sentence structure.

English fluent Human!Rocky is okay but the essentric speech and language barrier are just peak character dynamics. The whimsy is an essential part of his character.

How am I supposed to find joy and happiness when hes talking in the first person?

Am i supposed to live without "grace rocky save stars?"

The tunnel sequence is how I refer to the scenes of Grace and Rocky in the tunnel up until he’s in his ball. It’d be pretty much unchanged from the movie besides Eva reacting to Grace recounting it.

one thing i love about the phm posts i've seen so far (at least the ones which appear on my dash, which may be due to thr good taste of my mutuals rather than the overall wisdom of the fandom) is that stratt's love for humanity is never characterized as boiling down to being "maternal." she's never the mother of the earth. she's not a mother-general, or a mother at all. she is the woman in charge of saving the earth, and the earth is her responsibility: her role is not reduced to her gender role.

yeah famously victims of trauma have a very easy time talking about their trauma to large groups of people who are skeptical of their claims in the first place, obviously it's silly that he didn't want to talk about it during an emotional breakdown in front of a large group of people, some who he doesn't know very well. that's not realistic or reasonable at all 🙄

we actually do know more about Bolaire's backstory than we do literally anybody else at the table.
