the truth

the reason why i decided to make an anti shipping blog on tumblr in the first place is because i personally had disdain towards particular pairings such as jonadio and i just wanted to find people who had the same thoughts

the reason i hate pairings like jonadio is because they’re abusive, incestuous, etc.

however, unlike literally everyone in the anti community, i don’t actually believe that fiction affects reality

although there are many people on tumblr who identify as 20 different main characters from 20 different popular animes, i still have some hope left that there are people in this world who are able to tell the difference between fiction and reality and that those people are still making the majority of the population

the reason why i hate pairings like jonadio is because i just don’t understand the appeal of abusive pairings

i just don’t understand why people would ship them, and especially why people would use them to “cope”

the reason i made an anti shipping blog isn’t because i think people who ship incestuous pairings are going to magically normalize pedophilia

i made an anti shipping blog because i personally see abusive, incestuous, pedophilic, etc. pairings as shit tier pairings

i made this blog so i could just rant about pairings i don’t like

nothing more nothing less

and then i started seeing just how god awful the community is

it’s the worst form of “activism” tumblr has to offer

i had no fucking idea that shipping two fictional fucking characters together had so much politics behind it jesus christ

and it’s even got to the point where they start criticizing canon ships for being “problematic”

they also often target straight ships for “being lgbt erasure” even if one of the characters isn’t even canonly confirmed as lgbt but it’s a popular enough headcanon in the community so

not to mention they go out of their way to post their hate in the ship tags 

i think they think that it’s a way of protesting or something but really it’s just a dick move

not even i would do that just let people be ffs

they also bitch about people “posting their ship in the main tag” when honestly why the fuck is it a problem when the ship is relevant fandom material
