Animorphs. Goosebumps. Bailey School Kids. Babysitterâs Club. Magic Treehouse. Series that plague public libraries and second hand book stores to this day. A genre that was nearly wiped out overnight by the success of Harry Potter, and the newfound desire for kids to read long form literature

This is Max. He is one and my first pet on my own. I have only had large dogs and it has been 2 years since my last dog died. I considered getting a fish but I settled for a lot of house plants and multiple hobbies. I finally broke down and pick up this little man. He was a stray, underfed, fleas, and a tapeworm but the most loveable baby you could possibly imagine. I do not regret getting him one bit and he is pretty much helping me get through my depression. I tell yuh, moral of the story. Do not deprive yourself of companionship, you will always need it. You can find it in a human or an animal. I totally found my buddy and I am completely Thankful everyday that he is mine. You canât tell me you wouldnât fall in love with that face at first sight.

Some old housemates of mine were Syrian Orthodox. At their church different members of the church took turns baking the bread that would be consecrated for the Eucharist. This was all well and good until one woman baked raisin bread. This led to the memorable occasion of a rather flustered priest, who had not seen the bread until that moment, declaring, âThis - except for the raisins - is the Body of Christ.â
