Every time I add a silly little fic idea to my long list of things I’ll never get around to writing I ponder where I’d be if I didn’t make my personality for 5+ years around how much I hate writing

#not sure why but I assumed everyone would be on my brainwave and was shocked to discover that only 3% chose Marlene #but like maybe I’m just a gay little bitch but #I fully believe that Marlenes death was a turning point in the fate of most of the others #and this is all personal opinion and headcanon but #but it’s a domino’s situation #Marlene’s death directly leads to Dorcas’ death #I believe that Marlene dying helped Peters turncoat stay hidden #the statistical odds of the whole secret keeper debaucle would be less likely for betrayal with dorlene being alive #like they do would’ve been candidates for being secret keeper #so that covers James and lily #and if the switch still happened and peters betrayal went through #there’s no way Marlene would immediately accept that Sirius was the betrayer #in canon Remus is really the only one left to deal with the aftermath and clearly all the angst and relationship fallout and whatnot #would impact his confidence in doubting what’s being said about Sirius because of how much things are wrapped up in both suspecting the othe #but Marlene would’ve been able to evaluate and doubt and seek closure/ want the truth #so she’d wanna talk w Sirius and voilà hed have someone fighting his case and boy oh boy do I fear for any and all standing in marlenes way #obviously this doesn’t truly cover everyone on this list but I truly think her death was a huge turning point in the rest of the #first war casualties and such #anyways I’m supposed to be writing a rhetorical analysis essay but here we are
