Assad Zaman as Armand Interview with the Vampire — 3.07
“I am someone else, and that someone else has fallen deeply and completely in love with Sybelle and Benjamin.” (The Vampire Armand)
How do fanfic writers feel knowing that people might have been masturbating to their work?
If you're not masturbating to my stories, what's the fn poINT
If my shit does not make you drip, gtfo
like wtf do people really think smut authors are out here like gee there is such a huge audience of people with an ~aesthetic appreciation~ of erotica isn't that nice jfc
Fucking seriously lmao. Who is out there publishing fucknasty sex while simultaneously assuming that all of their readers are engaging with that content with some type of puritan intellectual detachment as the unspoken rule? That's absolutely absurd.
Of course, there's plenty of ways to enjoy smut. Of course people can also read or write smut with intellectual detachment as a creative exercise or a character study or for any other number of reasons. That's not wrong, and all of that happens in fandom, which is great! I just find it bizarre when people seem positively vibrated out of their breeches about the idea that it's not the only thing that happens.
I write porn. Of course some people are going to use it as porn! That's why it's there (in addition to me just having so many emotions about characters that I have to write about them getting together so I don't collapse into myself like a dying star) !
Honestly, if no one has cranked one out at least once to something I wrote, then I have FAILED as a smut writer lmfao. Truly, that would be depressing.
I am here to implore you to remember that horny is a valid emotion.
Art creates feelings. Horny is a feeling.

As a multishipper who contains multitude, I will forever be bitter that they've thrown Louis/Armand/Lestat's relationship(s) under several busses this season in favor of this misleading idea of the one true pairing/love that I've been forced to endure for years that implies that you can only love one person and that person alone which is the most idiotic thing I have ever heard or read, even more when we talk about vampires, Rice vampires, that live for hundreds, if not thousands, of years and that canonically love each other very much. In this essay, I will...
Anyway, Louis and Armand loved each other. It was messed up, but they did. And nothing will change that.
For Armand and Lestat I will let the author speak for herself:
I looked at Louis, my seemingly fragile Louis with his seemingly invincible composure; and at Armand, the urchin with the angel’s face. Finally those you love are simply … those you love.
My attempts at drawing devil's minion
They drive me crazy
You know what, I think some of us moved on too quickly from the idea that TVL was Lestat's POV and all the characters were being filtered through him. People were very quick to remind us all of this when they wanted to deny that Armand and Daniel had a unique bond or that DM was even real at all, but somehow this argument got forgotten along the way.
And there's something I've been reflecting on with regard to this when it comes to Daniel and the argument that he's been flattened.
Now I thought of this when I saw this interview with Jacob:
Now if Lestat's POV is influencing the portrayal of Louis, why wouldn't that be true of other characters, particularly ones that he doesn't really like very much? Why wouldn't he portray Daniel—a two-time Pulitzer prize winner who was always on his ass, pissed him off, and then cut off his head—in a terrible and unsympathetic light? Why wouldn't he portray Daniel—the annoying fledgling of the guy who killed his daughter—as a stroppy teenager who uses Gen Z slang and straight up says that Lestat might be smarter than him (Daniel Molloy would NEVER).
I'm not saying that certain events never happened, because see this post, however what I am saying is that the Lestat filter, if it can colour Louis, then it's going to colour the others.
Lestat uses cringey slang in episode 1, a lot. So is Daniel really the one saying things like "yaoi manther" or did Lestat put those words in his mouth? Is Armand really saying "armends" and "girlies" or is that a Lestatification of all that? Armand mispronounces Amhurst when he emphasises the "H", just like Lestat with Worcester (notably, Daniel corrects Lestat but not Armand). He also says he's going to "lob" Regina's head off when the phrase is actually to "lop" something off. You could even argue that Armand speaking in his French accent and Daniel not questioning it is a part of this (although there could easily be other reasons for this too).
Now none of this explains why they made Daniel say so many offensive things—maybe he's just that much of an evil boomer. And none of this is to say that all the writing is perfect. But I do think that some of the things (particularly language things) that are being written off as OOC are actually like that on purpose.
ASSAD ZAMAN as THE VAMPIRE ARMAND in INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE 1.04 The Ruthless Pursuit of Blood with All a Child's Demanding
You are not "three apples tall" bitch you are an evil ghoul and you are tall as fuck
btw the main characters being ultimately reconciled no matter what "unforgivable" things they do to each other isn't some unfortunate oversight on the part of AR or the show runners. it is the entire point of the story
Dahling you simply must read this book! It’s all about this devious little caterpillar who simply gorges himself on all manner of divine things
Every time you call tvl season straight, I become completely infuriated because your constant bi erasure is bullshit. And most of the sex that's f/m is SEXUAL ASSAULT.
