Thatās a face of a defeated man.
Half defeated, half āthis sort of ridiculousness is what made me fall in love with her and I wouldnāt have it any other wayā
So Iām moving into a new apartment, and I was told that the room had been damaged, but nothing could have prepared me for the fact that someone had carved Li Shangās head out of the bathroom door and written āWe must defeat the Huns!ā on it.
Finally, I can be me.
pictures from the area 51 raid are honestly poetic cinema and we should all be happy that we are witnessing such a historic moment

Is there any hatred stronger than the rage kids get towards Barney the dinosaur as soon as they are just a little too old for Barney the dinosaur
So, this guy, Martin Pistorius, fell into a coma when he was 12 years old and eventually awoke completely paralyzed, at least physically. He was misdiagnosed. Doctors believed he was in a completely vegetative state, but in reality, he had regained full consciousness and awareness. He just didnāt possess any motor function, so he couldnāt communicate to anyone that he was alive in there. He lived this way for 12 years before he overcame it by sheer force of will and was given the tools to communicate. He tells his story in his book, Ghost Boy. Since then heās also been the subject of the first episode of Invisibilia on NPR and had his own TedTalk.
Anyway, the breaking point that incited his plan of escape was being forced to watch Barney reruns all day, everyday at his care center. Sitting in front of the TV, he learned to tell the time by the shadows on the wall. If he had time he could know when Barney would end. With the ability to measure his days, he was able to pull himself out of the void and ultimately start down the path to recovery. Today, Martin can communicate whatever he wants with the help of a computer program, but thereās one thing he canāt articulate: āI cannot even express to you how much I hated Barney.ā
So it turns out that the primal hatred people have toward Barney is strong enough to pull a disembodied consciousness out of the abyss of existential despair and into the physical world out of pure spite
Thereās a hidden level of brilliance in this moment:
Chef Boyardee is known today for his cheap out-of-the-can pasta, but in his native Italy he was a renowned expert chef. He was reduced to the face of microwaveable eateries after his death.
Sound like anyone else from this movie?
Chef Ettore Boiardi, known today as Chef Hector Boyardee, was a key player in keeping poverty struck families fed for a low price, before he ever came out with the canned pasta line. He would jar his sauce in milk bottles and provide bags of dry noodles for families in Cleveland, Ohioās Little Italy sector. It was during the Depression, and pasta could be made in large portions at a low cost. This was the start of his venture.Ā
After years of success, he eventually opened his canning facility, opened his restaurant āIl Giardino dāItaliaā in New York, and helped feed the Allies during the war. Everyone always glazes over this part of his life, especially the Cleveland part. He lived here. He DIED here. Heās BURIED HERE. My mother took care of him at the nursing home she worked for in her early 20ā²s when he was ailing and spoke of nothing but the kindness he and his family radiated when they were there. Chef Boiardi was an immigrant with a dream and was always there to help those in need, because he knew what it was like to be in that position. Never let that go.Ā Ā
I had thought he was a fictionalized mascot, like Aunt Jemima or Betty Crocker, but this is really interesting.
āProud of his Italian heritage, Boiardi sold his products under the brand name Chef Boy-Ar-Dee so that his American customers could pronounce his name properly.ā
And if you have a name that isnāt āstandardā in America, that is a Mood.
I had no idea there were transgender Pikachus. Ā XD
Reblog if u love and support her!
what? :o explain pls i dont watch pokemonĀ
Pokemon have physical differences between male and female. Pikachu is far less subtle in its gender differences. Females have a heart shape tip to their tail, while males have that v shape.
Anyway hereās trans Pikachu.
Reblog to support trans Pikachu and how happy she is about her new gender-affirming tail

Eartha Kittās performance as Yzmaā¦the musicā¦the comedyā¦the Kronk. It is a perfect film
Additional reasons:

I suddenly understand why jewelry is expensive
Hopefully people will start to realize why trades in general are so expensive. You're paying for someone's experience to make a good finished product that takes skill and years of practice.
However there is also a giant gap that needs to be filled in trades. As people are aging out of jobs like tailors, carpenters, bookbinders, leatherworkers, etc, there aren't enough young people going INTO the trades to repopulate the jobs.
Please. Please. Consider going into trades.
These are the kinds of jobs people "fall into," because they aren't visible, and are never talked about.
Kids never grow up telling people they want to be a bookbinder. They don't know they even exist. And schools never ever present them as valid options. And if they do talk about them, they are treated as invalid compaired to NFL Linebacker, President, and Brain Surgeon. After all "jewelry maker" is something people do to supplement their "burger flipping" income, and not an extension of blacksmithing.
But that's the crux of it, isn't it? Crafting and trade skills are an extension of artistic skills, which are often seen as completely invalid, and a total waist of time.
Look at those buttons. āDOUGā and āFASTERā. Thatās it.Ā
