Have you ever felt aromantic "jealousy"?

Wait! I'll explain!

I'm talking about a personal experience. I was thinking about some fictional characters I felt some kind of "jealousy" towards when they started a romantic relationship, but I definitely didn't have a crush on them. I started to wonder: "Why I felt this way?"

The answer is simple: I wasn't jealous because I wanted the character to have a relationship with me, I wanted them to not have a romantic plot at all. Sometimes it just happened to me, I got super attached to the character and didn't want a partner for them.

So… have you ever had a similar experience? Let me know!

Seeing stuff about it being normal to be sad about being aroace and I just want to say it's also normal to not be sad about it at all. To never have been sad about it. To never become sad about being aroace. Example: me :)

The second I learned it was humanly possible not to marry someone I was like yayy!! hurray!! that's me right there, unmarried forever! what a luxury!

When I later found out aromanticism and asexuality existed I was like: wait that's a thing yayy!!!! That's me!! It's a thing!! :D

And then with the aromantic community being so cool it's even more awesome!

obviously you should respect the original tags on any post you reblog, like if you reblog an aroallo's post don't tag it as asexual because that's rude and erasing OPs identity (unless they say it's okay of course), but if someone makes their own post and tags it as aromantic but it's talking about sex instead of romance, that's not mistagging, and you should believe them when they say that their relationship with sex is a part of their romantic orientation, because it probably is.

not all aspecs use the SAM nor are they required to pretend to do so for your comfort. believe aspecs when they say their experiences are tied to their identity, even if it isn't the same identity you would use, I'm begging you.
