I received two confessions from friends in one night:
One of my friends has borderline personality disorder. I could have guessed this but didnât want to make assumptions.
My other friend said his greatest fantasy is to cum and take a bite of a Big Mac simultaneously. I could never have guessed this, no matter how many tries I was given.
And I just. Cant.

oh??? millennials vs. gen z tiktok drama??? i think u mean "people who would've bullied me if i'd been in high school in 2010" versus "people who would bully me if i were in high school right now"
had a customer ask me âdo you have any cookbooks for menâ and i think the saddest part was that we did
Actually valid thing about this though:
I have some of my mom and grandmaâs old cookbooks, mostly from the 60s and 70s. They all have dedicated sections for explaining what various cooking terms mean, how to do various things including how to measure correctly, one even talks about how/where to store different ingredients and what staples to keep in your kitchen.
The cookbooks Iâve bought in my lifetime? Donât do that.
They assume that the people buying cookbooks are people who cook, people who already know these things, so they donât take the time and page space to explain. The only recent cookbooks I have that bother to explain this stuff at all are a couple that are meant for children, and one thatâs a Japanese cookbook for westerners that wisely doesnât assume its readers are familiar with a whole different cultureâs cooking techniques.
Now, I know we like to complain all over this website about how so many boys are simply never taught growing up how to do regular household things because theyâre âwomenâs workâ and a lot of families just have no expectation that boys do them. That includes cooking.
That means we get a lot of grown men who donât know how to cook.
They might have a handful of foods theyâve memorized how to put together but they donât know or understand the basics of how to function in a kitchen because they were never given the chance to learn or develop those skills.
From what Iâve seen of them, those Cookbooks For Menâin addition to having like tool metal and fire aestheticsâexplain those basics, in line with the recipes if not in their own section.
So to any guys seeking that out: good for them!
Is it kinda dumb to be gendering cookbooks? Yeah. But if that opens the door a little bit for men who have been raised to be uncomfortable with the perceived femininity of cooking to learn? Then Iâm glad those books are out there!
Yeeeeah, you also see stuff like Good Eats as more... "Male coded" in terms of audience, that assumes that the reader doesn't necessarily know much about cooking already but isn't an idiot, and gets into the Science of it.
Tangentially: I have no idea what the quality of Cooking for Geeks is as a cookbook, but its explainer sections got my partner to have a much better vocabulary for her preferences, so Iâd recommend flipping through it.
This is why youtubers like Binging with Babish is so popular with his series âBasics with Babishâ where he explains the simply from the ground up
if youâre white and wanna write a poc character and feel awkward about it i implore you to ignore any twitblr stuff treating it as a massive ethical burden and instead come in more with the same mindset youâd have if you wanted to write about idk firefighters but didnât know anything about firefighters so you do⊠research. Like fuck off with the weird kinda creepy calls for spiritual introspection youâre not writing about god damn space aliens youâre writing about humans and if you think you need more perspective of different life experiences just read?
Unless youâd consider yourself an expert on medieval history, if it feels easier to get into âthe mindâ of an 11th century knight than it does a normal 21st century person of a different ethnicity than yours thatâs not a sign of âbeing wokeâ and you should ignore any weirdo twitblrs that basically wanna reskin racial Othering as a good and moral thing to uphold bc thatâs what this discourse amounts to
I would much rather have white people wanting to learn about my cultures through trying to write about them than to have them be so scared of getting it less than perfect that theyâd ignore them completely. And even if something is not quite right, thereâs a massive difference between maliciousness and ignorance, and people treating those two as the Exact Same Bad also contributes to this othering attitude.
Balloon for when somebody lands in the hospital for something that was definitely their fault.
did you type in âwizard staff with orbâ but the results were too feminine? or did you preemptively assume that the selection of wizard staffs with orbs would be so vast, you needed to narrow down the results to only the most manly?
no it autofilled to that and i thought it was so funny that i needed to know what would come up
Is anyone else having recurrent nightmares about not wearing a mask in public? Or is that just my broken psyche processing the trauma of the last year? đŹ
Iâd say Iâm glad weâre all in the same boat but god Iâm really not.
