How do you use tumblr if you can't read?
I don’t know but by the grace of God some of yall scraping by
ever since i learned abt the concept of networking i knew i was going to have to do everything alone and do it the hard way
There are political newspaper comics that aren't this succinct
Ive had this saved in my phone since April
When you're a kid you just take trees for granted. Then when you get to be an adult you realize that a fully mature tree cannot be created in an amount of time that fits in a convenient landscaping timeframe for love nor money nor all the powers of science. Then you realize that people are very very very cavalier about chopping them down
consecutive posts. all the hot girls are mourning august
the entire point of life is to be silly, kind, and really weird btw.
the most disorienting thing thats ever happened to me was when a linguistics major stopped in the middle of our conversation, looked me in the eye, and said, "you have a very interesting vernacular. were you on tumblr in 2014?" and i had to just stand there and process that one for a good ten seconds
I APOLOGISE FOR NOT REPLYING TO YOUR EMAIL SOONER. ONE DAY ALL OF US WILL HAVE TO CONVINCE OURSELVES THAT WE SPENT THE GIFT OF TIME ON EARTH WELL.
You can only reblog this today.
I missed my chance last year. Not gonna let it happen again
USA people! Buy NOTHING Feb 28 2025. Not anything. 24 hours. No spending. Buy the day before or after but nothing. NOTHING. February 28 2025. Not gas. Not milk. Not something on a gaming app. Not a penny spent. (Only option in a crisis is local small mom and pop. Nothing. Else.) Promise me. Commit. 1 day. 1 day to scare the shit out of them that they don't get to follow the bullshit executive orders. They don't get to be cowards. If they do, it costs. It costs.
Then, if you can join me for Phase 2. March 7 2025 thtough March 14 2025? No Amazon. None. 1 week. No orders. Not a single item. Not one ebook. Nothing. 1 week. Just 1.
If you live outside the USA boycott US products on February 28 2025 and stand in solidarity with us and also join us for the week of no Amazon.
Are you with me?
Spread the word.
Organised by People’s Union, read more here:
When Donald Trump reentered office, one of his first calls to action was to end several DEI initiatives in the federal government.
'This won't work, this isn't widespread, nobody knows, we're in a bubble, blah blah blah' my mom, a 64 year old lady with no social media whose first language is spanish, told me about this before tumblr did, and said we are going to participate.
I've seen flyers for this in real life. Do it.
I looked up the media coverage, because it's a good way to know if this will be counterculture and easily ignored, or mainstream as people who might not see it elsewhere will hear it in the news.
Holy shit, y'all.
DO IT.
Forbes is handwringing. When Forbes handwrings, they're scared. Media Bias Fact Check rates them least biased and mostly factual, and slightly right politically, with high credibility.
CBS, sharing on MSN News.
The Root, a magazine about Black culture, available in English, Spanish, and French. Media Bias Fact Check rates them left-biased, mostly factual, and high credibility.
USA TODAY, and USA TODAY, and USA TODAY. For those of you who don't travel often, you should know this is the physical newspaper you're most likely to find in a middle-class hotel or a truck stop. This is their online edition, but the large amount of coverage suggests it may be in their print edition, too.
Newsweek.
AZ Central on two different days. This is my "local" paper (it's the online edition of rhetorical Arizona Republic), but by local I mean it is statewide with a large readership and its articles often get picked up and cited as a reputable source by national media.
AOL News.
An editorial for MSN News urging people to take part.
I'm also seeing a lot of coverage in the kind of tiny little papers that serve just a couple of counties, where those towns will be buckling under the weight of greedflation and corpofedual policies and the residents will be ready to raise hell. States I'm seeing represented by these include North Carolina, western New York, Louisiana, New Jersey, and Ohio. Notice something interesting there? It's states from all across the political spectrum.
It's going to be a thing. Take part.
What's hilarious about the Forbes article is it accurately introduces the concept behind the blackout, that it is targeting corporations, and combating corporate greed...
...and then the next paragraph is them whatabouting that local businesses might suffer from this blackout.
The call to action from Schwarz is urging a complete pause on discretionary spending with the intent to impact large companies, however, consumers may boycott all businesses including small ones
Like. They are so clearly grasping at straws here, it's actually comical. If an evil corporation in a fictional universe wrote this article I'd say it was too unrealistic, and yet, this is reality.
If you’re not in the US please avoid giving business to US companies today. The Fascist threat affects people in other countries too. Global solidarity against Fascism.
