Graduated college today so yesterday I brought my lovely parents to the bar with my friends (4 straight men). And goddammit if my mother didnât have two shots and immediately make it her mission to convince my friends to watch heated rivalry. What an icon. I want to be her when I grow up.
Ao3 going down and everyone regretting that they didnât download fics but then also proceeding not to download anything in the brief time that it came back is like when youâre sick and think youâll be soooo thankful to be able to breathe again when you get better but then immediately taking it for granted the second youâre healthy.
Got my first hate comment on ao3 and apparently a tag on my fanfic that has fewer than 200 kudos is gonna radicalize an entire generation of young menđĽ°đĽ°đĽ°
You want your favorite ships to be canon. I want my ships to keep having weird homoerotic tension with each other and remain forever single in canon while I read heaps of fanfiction about them. We are not the same
Fandom is great because thereâs a massive art theft and I go on the internet and everyone is like âactually MY fictional gays did the louvre heistâ
There is a man on a sports team that my mom and I hate and his name is Kamden. So naturally I have been calling him Karson, Konnor, Kalvin, Kole, etc.
The issue is my mom now thinks Iâm a hilarious genius and I canât even tell her that itâs not my joke because I was inspired by damagecontrolâs chew me up (but donât spit me out) and Jamesâs hatred for Connor.
Looking for something to read? Check out my marauders fic rec spreadsheet! All of these are very well written and I enjoyed them greatly! Also feel free to add your own recs to this sheet, Iâm always looking for more ;)
Lily trying way too hard to be a wingman to James (amicable exes or jegulily, you decide!):
Regulus: James, howâs your head?
Lily (putting a hand over Jamesâs mouth before he can make a fool of himself): Reg. I cannot stress this enough. Best Iâve ever had. Swear to god, heâs got a magic tongue. Like the things he doesâ
Sirius: what the fuck, stop asking me if Iâm okay, Lily, did James put you up to this?
Lily: hah! James couldnât make me do anything if he tried, that bottom.
Siriu (choking on air): whâexcuse you?
Lily (laughing): you shouldâve seen your face! Iâm only kidding. Obviously James is a switch. Verse? I can never remember which means which. But I suppose James is both anyways, so who cares!
Everyone knows that ao3 authors love comments, but by far my favorite comments are on angsty chapters. Theyâll be like youâre an awful fucking cunt for writing this and also I love you more than my own family.
I love when I follow a blog on here cause we have a common interest but then most of their stuff is some fandom I have zero context for. Like hell yeah! Cool art! Funny post! Donât know what itâs about but you go!
Started a new job today and when the IT guy was helping me set up my new laptop that I had never before touched I was convinced he was gonna find my fanfiction.
Sirius: James, I'm into dudes. And I know we've been friends for years, so I really hope it doesn't change how you view me, I only really started thinking about it recently, so... I don't know. Just wanted you to know.
James: Of course it doesn't change anything! Sirius you're like a brother to me, I love you no matter what.
Sirius: Good, I was scared you'd think I like to cuddle with you cause I'm into you or something, but obviously I'm not, you're not even my type!
Oof itâs been forever since I posted but hereâs a lil blurb of my current wip for yall:
The apartment smells heavenly when Lily gets home, and, âOh, hi Regulus!â she blurts, lips turning up at the sight of the boy lounging at their kitchen table next to his brother.
âIâm here too,â Sirius frowns.
âYouâre always here,â she glares, shucking off her shoes and joining James in the kitchen.
âThat he is,â James agrees.
âWhatcha making?â Lily murmurs, wrapping her arms around his back, rucking up his sweater to warm her hands on his stomach.
âOhâfuck thatâs cold,â James flinches, laughing. âJust spaghetti and meatballsâbut Iâm trying a new recipe for this sauce.â
âSmells good,â Lily hums.
âUgh, chill with the PDA,â Sirius gags. âWe have a guest.â
âSorry Regs,â James smirks over his shoulder.
âI couldnât care less,â Regulus says flatly. âHonestly, you and Sirius were worse with each other before Lily got home.â
Lily snorts as she joins the brothers at the table, always glad to have someone else to share in the teasing of James and Sirius. âIt hurts, but Iâve finally accepted that my boyfriend has a boyfriend,â she sighs.
âFor two straight men they really do act like theyâre in romantic love,â Regulus agrees suspiciously, grey eyes sparkling.
âWhy dâyou assume weâre straight?â James turns, putting an indignant hand on his hip.
Regulus quirks an eyebrow. âAre you⌠not straight?â
Lily giggles to herself, leaning her chin on her hands to appreciate the interaction.
âThatâs beside the point,â James says, waving a spatula in the air.
âIs it though?â
Lily glances at Sirius, silent through the argument, to see him hardly watching, just dicking around on his phone instead. She frowns. âJames, turn âround and keep cooking alright, stop making a fuss.â
âIâm notââ
Lily stops him with a twirling finger. âA man belongs in the kitchen, honey.â
This earns her an elaborate bow. âOf course, my love.â
