I’ve seen a lot of people tag my batgirl stuff as black bat and i’m not sure if that’s for tag organizing reasons or because people actually think she’s black bat in her batgirl suit but i’ve made this hopefully helpful guide for differentiating her mantles and suits!

I’ve noticed, also, in fanfiction, that people will sometimes have a Spoiler/Black Bat/Oracle trio with no Batgirl, which never happens! there’s always a Batgirl in rotation :)!

(specifically it’s been: Batgirl/Spoiler/Oracle, Black Bat/Batgirl/Oracle, Orphan/Spoiler/Batgirl, Batgirl/Batgirl/Batgirl)

*Tate Brombal, current author of Batgirl ‘24, stated in a Reddit AMA that he has plans for her black lenses, so they might make a return!

Another fun fact I didn’t include: Cass actually has a fourth mantle, Kasumi, she uses while undercover in Justice League Elite, and she actually uses that mantle longer than she does Black Bat! (12 issues vs 7!)

Lord knows I've shat on the MCU plenty myself, but I can't be the only one getting very fucking sick of people treating it like the source of everything bad in the world to an absurd, incoherent degree. Like yeah, the fans are annoying, yeah it began a lot of bad trends, yeah it's the epitome of liberalism and yeah post-Infinity War they've made like two movies actually worth watching but I'm not gonna pretend like the MCU hasn't also given us a whole lot of certified bangers. The Guardians movies? Captain America 1-3? Black Panther? Thunderbolts more recently? No, the MCU is not the reason everything is shallow franchise slop now. No, the MCU did not invent enshittification. Christ, nobody even cares about the MCU anymore. It only ever even gets brought up by the people who hate it. Grow up.

Anyone who would self describe as a fujoshi should not be trusted. There's nothing wrong with liking yaoi but the fact that there is a popular term specifically for straight women who obsessively fetishize gay men is gross in the extreme. I do hate to play this card but no really, imagine if the genders were reversed.
