are we for real right now
"people have interpreted the question as how do YOU pronounce it" they are doing that because that's what the question is. i said "how do you pronounce it" because i meant "how do you pronounce it". also i was not "looking for" 'miss' because that is not how i pronounce the word 'ms', & 'ms' is not even short for 'miss'. i dont think you can get away with making digs at other people's "reading comprehension" & lack of nuance while misinterpreting me with this much confidence
Most English teachers in America (ime, as a southerner) teach that Ms. is for Miss because they don't want to discuss the word Mistress with children. I didn't know there was a difference between Ms. & Miss until I happened upon it online as a result. So I get why they're loud & wrong. But they could've googled it before presuming they were correct. And it is in fact pronounced miz, which makes this all the more funny.
