Chocolate lollipops
Macaroons
Chocolate covered matzos
Toasted coconut marshmallows

What about coconut covered marshmallows?
Toasted coconut marshmallows are marshmallows covered in toasted coconut, so I assume those are what you’re thinking of!

Once upon a time there was a girl whose wicked stepmother forced her to clean the entire house for Pesach all by herself. So while her stepmother and stepsisters left early for the grand seder at the Prince's palace, the girl spent the afternoon sweeping and dusting and washing and polishing. As she finally burned the last crumbs of chametz in the fireplace, she saw the sun setting and knew she would never make it to the Prince's seder on time, so she began to prepare her own meager dinner: a little Passover pizza. But miraculously, her fairy godmother appeared and transformed the pizza into a flying carpet to take her to the palace, and the cheese into a beautiful dress for her to wear. And to commemorate this story, to this very day, that cheese is named after that girl: they called her Matzah-rella.
Me a week before Pesach: give me the matzah and eggs and potatoes and white fish salad GIVE IT TO MEEEEEE
Me on the second day of Pesach: oh man, eggs again? When’s Pesach over? I want beans

okay. after my last poll—in which the nuance option won—it occurs to me to use the results and people's tags for an updated poll that better reflects jumblr's demographics. to clarify, anyone who is currently jewish can and should vote! please pick whichever option is most accurate. (as before, the way i'm creating these categories is america-centric, but that has more to do with the demographics of jewish tumblr users than anything else.)
jews of tumblr, how did you grow up?
haredi (including hasidic)
yeshivish or (right-wing) centrist orthodox
centrist/modern orthodox, traditional sephardic, or dati leumi
conservative, trad egal, masorti (movement), or masorti (religious/cultural)
reform, reconstructionist, renewal, or humanistic
"non-practicing orthodox" or kiruv (through chabad, aish, etc.)
unaffiliated but celebrated all/most holidays & involved in jewish life socially
unaffiliated & celebrated only a few holidays, disconnected, or not jewish
specific secular community (post-soviet, israeli hiloni, secular yiddishist)
more than one of these apply *equally*
none of these really apply to me
do not abuse this nuance button
in defense of these groupings: my goal is to understand your experiences of jewish community life on a day-to-day or week-to-week level—NOT the importance that jewishness/jewish identity held for you growing up. in reality, many jews raised without regular access to jewish communal participation were also raised to place extraordinary value on judaism!
i'm curious about this because of the way that it shapes the conversations we have about jewish topics. the implications can be broad (e.g., did you celebrate jewish holidays? did you keep kosher/shabbos? did you grow up with access to social settings where jewishness itself was seen as normal, or even normative?) or more specific (e.g., how did you conceptualize halacha growing up, if at all? how did people talk about modern/western/"secular" culture and society? what social expectations did you face regarding adult jewish life?). i hope it can provide interesting insights on jumblr demographics as well as jumblr discourse.
sorry if this is overexplaining, but i feel like highlighting the purpose and utility of this poll is helpful, especially in getting people to vote/rb! thank you!

Every Purim event has at least one:
Kid wearing a paper crown from school
Someone who actually has a solid, quality costume
Frum woman in a onesie with a skirt on top
Someone with a neon tutu over all black clothes
Guy in fun hat ™️
Got a potato knish at the grocery store bakery and it was actually a mislabeled kasha knish. Day ruined >:(
All these other Jewish people I know think Purim is today. I really thought I was maybe wrong for a minute but I looked it up and nope, Purim is definitely next week.
Everyone in the local Facebook group is dressing up their kids as leprechauns and I don’t know how to tell them they’re a week off lol
What’s the best spelling for the upcoming Jewish holiday?
Chanukah
Hanukkah
Khanukah
Hanuka
Chanukka
Hannukah

In honor of the upcoming Jewish holiday (that shall not be written to avoid bias), I created this poll! (I tried to get some main spellings in there but I definitely missed some.)
EDIT: Wanted to add this to the main post instead of just tags since I’ve gotten quite a few comments re: exclusion of Janice
(a) way too many people would have chosen it for the meme and I didn’t want the results to be skewed
(b) This poll only uses spellings I’ve seen genuinely (as opposed to how Janice is generally for the meme among English speakers) used in English-speaking contexts so no januca either (sorry). I’m also involved in French speaking Jewish communities and just right there are another 4 mainstream transliterations that do not exist in English speaking contexts at all and the English transliterations alone are unwieldy so I set this limit for myself
Per: @emperor-ka1
Janice is a combo of the different transliterations from Spanish and Yiddish! It’s become a meme over the years. There’s more backstory here:
Hanukkah, or as I like to spell it, Janice i feel like there’s a joke I don’t quite get but sure thing Askbox is currently closed as I wor
Someone just wished me a “chag Purim sameach” I mean their heart is in the right place even if their calendar isn’t??
Just realized the person probably meant “chag urim sameach” which is supposedly a way to wish someone a happy Chanukah? I guess it’s just not a thing in my area because I’ve literally never heard that before but hey alma says so
