I think the reason Star Wars means so much to so many people is because the entire message of it is to never give up hope. It’s something we forget to remind ourselves everyday, even though it may seem obvious. We live in such a dark world at times, and sometimes things really can seem hopeless. That’s why when we see Luke Skywalker continuing to stay optimistic despite all of the horrific things he’s going through, when we see Leia continue to stay strong and continue to fight for what she’s passionate about after her home planet gets destroyed, when Han knows well that his friend could possibly be dead but goes into the freezing temperatures of Hoth anyway because he has hope he could be alive too, we say, “Maybe I should be that way, too. Maybe there is hope after all, if I just look for it.”

The legacy of death he had planted that day had continued to grow, costing hundreds of beings their lives, and Leia could see no end to it. “He should have known better.” Leia passed the electrobinoculars to Han. “He was a Jedi.” “He was a kid with a dead mother.” Han raised the electro-binoculars, but he seemed to be looking more toward the banthas than the bones. “He vented his anger on the ones who killed her. I might have done the same thing.” “That doesn’t make it right,” Leia said. “And it doesn’t make me a Sith monster, either,” Han retorted. “What he did wasn’t evil, it was human. Later, he became Darth Vader and did a lot of terrible things, but don’t forget that he’s the one who killed the Emperor.” “You’re saying you forgive him?” Leia asked. “After he froze you in carbonite?” “I’m just saying that without him, Palpatine would still be Emperor.” “You’re saying Darth Vader saved the galaxy?” Han shrugged. “Well, Anakin Skywalker. Think about it. If he’d have been a nice guy, do you think he’d have ever gotten that close to Palpatine?” Han continued to watch the banthas through the electrobinoculars. “Maybe that was your father’s destiny all along, to save the galaxy just like his mother thought he would - well, maybe not just like she thought. But he did save it.”

what she says: I'm fine

what she means: padme Amidala was actually the strongest character in the prequel trilogy and she is constantly the butt end of victim blaming and misinterpretation. She was running a country at age 14 and she bravely made decisions that others would not. She believed in her causes and fought for them with whole heart, she took on the senate sometimes singlehandedly and defended what she stood for. She was one of the few people who actually saw the clones as people and stood up for their rights. She was secretly married, pregnant and still managing the business of the republic, and going to senate meetings and speaking. She several times fights people off with her weapons and is certainly not a damsel in distress. She supports Anakin, trusts him, doesn't believe something until she hears it directly from him and is in no way at fault for him turning to the dark side. She saw the fall of the republic and the person she loved most turn on and destroy everything she believed in and yet she died still having hope that Anakin was not truly evil and her final moments were spent giving life to her children. Sadly many fans still call her weak and blame her for everything.

–From a Certain Point of View - “Time of Death” Obi-Wan hand crafted toys for Luke, leaving them on the remains of Shmi’s grave for Beru to find and give to the boy.  Always working to make each one better than the last. Is content just knowing that they make Luke happy, that they touch on that part of him that longs to fly, that Obi-Wan sees this sweet little boy and loves him enough to make toys for him.  This entire thing is said with such love and affection, he’s so happy to see Luke enjoying his toys. It’s so simple and yet I’m reduced to tears because, no matter what the galaxy took away from Obi-Wan, no matter how it rewarded everything good he did with betrayal and pain, Obi-Wan Kenobi continued to love and to give more.  He continued to love.

I’m declaring this canon. I mean they don’t come right out and say it but Luke was GETTING HIS TOY SPACESHIPS FROM OBI-WAN AND THAT’S A TOY SPACESHIP SO I REST MY CASE. 

I hope Kenobes kept making them well into Luke’s teen years, figuring Luke would never outgrow them. We all know Obi-Wan probably saw actual adult Anakin playing with toy spaceships OH WAIT I HAVE PROOF FOR THAT TOO:
