That sounds like a lot of money until you consider that’s less than a tenth of a billion dollars. Jeff Bezos is worth $118 billion. For less than .05% of his net worth, Jeff Bezos could bring water back to an entire town. At the most money I have ever had in my bank account, .05% of it could buy me like a burger. And not even a particularly nice one.

And let’s say, yeah, the ultra-rich are soulless monsters devoid of empathy or altruism. For .05% of his net wealth, Jeff Bezos could completely turn his public image around. Instead of being the asshole who exploits his workers, suddenly he’s the unlikely hero who saved an entire town.

Nope! These little kitties are from black jaguar white tiger foundation, a big cat rescue and sanctuary, and the man in the video is Eduardo Serio. He regularly gets orphaned cubs and cubs rescued from the pet trade, when the zoos don’t have enough room. He doesn’t normally socialize with them like this but the margay and jaguar cubs here had already imprinted on humans and can no longer survive in the wild, so he’s been raising them

Scuttles into a pet store with no money

So I have it on the authority of both the animal shelter and the guy that runs the fish and reptile store that this is FINE.  

People at the shelter are thrilled to have people come pet/play with the animals to help socialize them, and you can even sign up for scheduled dog walks or other socialization events there!  Reptile store guy says that as long as you’re not tapping on the fishtanks or bothering him while he’s trying to help customers, it’s great to have people in the store and learning more about reptiles/getting them accilmated to humans.  He even let me hold the boa contrictor once while he was cleaning out her cage.

So go in, be polite and nice to the animals and staff, and have a good time!
