So you mean the entire show was baiting a queer relationship with so much chemistry, deliberately placed symbolism, parallels, only for one half of that relationship ending up fated to spend the rest of his life grieving a magical girl who needlessly sacrificed herself after a life of trauma and suffering, the canonically gay character end up with a random guy we’re never introduced to, the entire group gets split up to live their seperate lives only to meet up every so often to reminisce over their pasts and their shallow futures, and there are countless plot holes that are never addressed and will never be touched on again? Wow, I’ve never seen that before!!

I think the funniest part of the coming out scene is when Will says he doesn't like girls and Mike has a full body reaction and Lucas is about to look into the camera like he's on the office.

Like that is the face of man whose been knowing this shit for a while. He was NOT at all surprised.

BROOOOOO i cannottt. i have faith i have SO MUCH FAITH in byler, i came from vol 2 WITH MY FAITH INTACT and i go to tumblr, expecting to see everyone picking apart the coming out scene, the IMMEDIATE PAN TO MIKE, WHO SITS UP STRAIGHT, and will LOOKING MIKE IN THE EYES WHEN HE SAYS HE HAS A CRUSH WHO IS STRAIGHT and mike TRIPLE TAKES. Literally. It’s SO disappointing to see this fandom just give up after years of faith and interpretation, I was really sad to see it. I saw plenty of signs and was looking forward to seeing them being picked apart, but alas I fear we’re panicking now.

Sorry I know most of yall are still in the crash out doom and gloom phase but I do actually think a lot of the choices made sense for the characters and I actually do have faith the finale will pull things off in a satisfying way

I know people are feeling some type of way about their ships— I get it.

HOWEVER Nancy Wheeler ending up on her own (episode 8 pending ofc) is profound. There’s been highly anticipated discourse on this. Every interview with Natalia was heavily pressed on the Nancy-Steve-Jonathon of it all. And that to me was fucked up.

The break up was heart felt. Really captures the anguish of breaking up with someone who you love but who just isn’t right for you. We also get acknowledgements that her and Steve couldn’t want different things more as well. (THANK GOD, bc I felt like I was the only one who remembered s1 jancy bonding on not wanting to have the nuclear family that Steve WANTS.)

Nancy walk ‘em down Wheeler was born to be in pretentious women’s literature classes, getting coffee and writing hard hitting investigative journalism on a Parisian balcony.

I’m fucking glad that we’re getting a powerful, female character whose arc doesn’t hinge on two guys she dated in high school.

I have thoughts on other stuff that I don’t think I’m entirely qualified to speak on with my personal life experiences (byler) but I appreciate greatly a female character who isn’t defined by their male counterparts. That’s that on that for me🤷🏼‍♀️
